What does REGISTRAR-HOLD and REDEMPTIONPERIOD means? thanks.

Registrar HOLD meens the registrar is renweing it (the 1st phase in a drop). The reg renewes it and then if the customer doesnt pay up, the registrar gets a refund and the domain enters RedmtionPeriod. THe registrant can renew @ reg fee (i believe). This period last from 1-45+ days but i believe it is mostly 45 days.

Redemtion Grace Period AKA RGP, it 30 days long and at this point hte previosu domain owner can renew the domain @ a cost of $100-$200+ After this period, the domain enters Pending Delte.

IN pending delete, the domain CANNOT be renewed (although with NSI [and other reg's] it happens sometimes) and it enters this cycle. THis cycle is 6 daysl long and after this, the domain is finally, dropped at 11-12 PM PST and avail to the public, or hould I say buydomains?

But thats another story. Enough typeing for now.

delete process can be 5 or 6 days depending on extension.
Register Hold renew fees all depend on registrar. Some charge over 200$ for registrar hold.

okay so how long is the 'REGISTRAR-HOLD' period? is it 1 year after the expiration date?

No, dont pay attention o the expiree date if the domain is on HOLD

It just meens the registrar renewed the domain, and is the customer doesnt pay for the doamin for another 1 yr reg, the registrar gets thier $ back..


So the expiree date is false. Only pay attention to that if the domain is ACTIVE
