View Full Version : banned url thread deletion

Hi,

Someone recently pointed out all the c i host threads being removed, the reason given was that the url is banned - fair enough.

Does this mean that if a company has a terrible reputation for poor service, fraud or anything else like that then they could cover themselves up by being banned on WHT and having all their threads removed.

Surely its in the interest of WHT to allow people to know about these companies and what happened.

If a url is going to be banned and posts removed, maybe its worth maintaining a list of offending url's and the reason for the ban?

Excellent points Matt.

This policy would mean that when a visitor does a search for a company he could be looking, for he would not find anything at all if that company had a banned URL here.

Not all that helpful if the worst offenders in the Hosting trade are protected by WHT's policy of anonymity....

The situation you described applies specifically to Chris Faulkner's company.

But for the record, most if not all threads specifically discussing banned company will be closed and/or deleted.

Ie, lets say someone starts a thread about timmy's URL, with the url as a subject - that will be closed and/or deleted.

If someone starts a general thread then it drifts to discussing a banned company, we'll do what's needed to bump that thread back ON topic ;)_
