We have 13,000 virtual hosting accounts running on our own control panel that we designed years ago. We decided that it's time for an upgrade and we've been looking very closely at Cpanel and H-Sphere.

Which one would you suggest ?

Form what I can tell H-sphere offers an entire hosting business management package while Cpanel has a kick a** end user control panel.

Picture yourself as an end user - which one would you choose ?

End users tend to prefer Cpanel, but only because they havent really experience much else.

I would seriously consider H-Sphere out of those two. This is a little biased as I really dont like Cpanel. But you ask for an opinion and I gave it :)

Greetings Dave:

Over the past eight years, we've switched automation systems several times (4 times to be exact).

The overwhelming majority of the time, our customers notice some differences, get used to the panel, and like it.

Our last (4th) change has been to H-Sphere (late last year), and we've not regretted it.

Our customers praise it; and, we hope it is our last change for at least four or five more years <sigh and smile>.

Positive Software support is extremely prompt.

On the rare occasions there are vulnerabilities posted, they typically have a fix posted within one business day or less.

They don't tie the system / security administrators hands for security; so if you know what you are doing on those levels, you can create an extremely secure environment.

You can have multiple servers controlled by one control cluster / server; and administrating your accounts is a breeze.

Typically, I don't handle support calls or emails; but sometimes I get called into the mix.

Today I had a NY client who needed a custom MX record set up; H-Sphere allowed me to find the client, log in as them, and set up the record within under 5 minutes; all while the client was on the phone with me.

The forums at http://forum.psoft.net/ are relatively active (no where compared to WHT, but very good compared to users helping users).

And, I'll end here before I go on and on some more <smile>.

Thank you.

I really liked H-Sphere. The problem I'm finding is that their control panel has too many levels, is ugly and is not laid out very nicely.

Are there any skins out there that would make the end user H-Sphere control panel look like Vertex ?

I prefer Cpanel and would certainly go with H-Sphere or zerverx if CP was not around. I have also seen some interest in Direct Admin although I have yet to test it.
