Hi,
could somebody explain what a .rnd file does in the /tmp of a Linux box? (Red HAt 8.0).

The .rnd file is a pool of random data generated for use when an encryption routine is called.

Thanks NyteOwl, although I don't know what encryption process that could be...could it be the https:// for cpanel or WHM login?
In any case, from your answer I underastand that it shouldn't be anything malicious under it. Is this correct?

Nope it's a normal occurance and yes an SSL session will use it :)
