Two questions...

1. Do you feel it would be more useful to allow clients to log into ModernBill, or Ensim/cPanel.
2. If Ensim/cPanel, how would you set up a login on the homepage? Is that even possible? (More interested in Ensim if they differ)

Modernbill and Ensim/Cpanel are for two different purposes. If they want to update their billing information, submit a trouble ticket, log into Modernbill would be helpful. If they want to reorganize their website, setting up emails, log into Ensim/Cpanel is more useful.

Cpanel can be login as:

username:password@www.domainname.com:2082

Ensim can be login as:

hostname:19638/webhost/services/virtualhosting/siteadmin?ocw_login_username=username&ocw_login_domain=domainname.com&ocw_login_password=password

The login/pass fields on my home page go to a "Members Area", where the client gets some basic instructions on how to use ftp, email, ensim/cpanel, etc...

This cuts down support a bit, My clients like it.

Very Usefull

And what about if there are multiple servers in the same company? Does cpanel allow cross-server logins?

You are connecting to 1 IP not twelve, CPanel is installed on one server. You have to put different fields or make a simple script that looks into MB and redirect to the good server.

We developed a script that lets our clients login in to 10 servers. But we use Plesk. :)

You can always just use a drop down box for the server selection on a log in script. That's a pretty straightforward way to do things and fairly easy for the clients as well. I would pay close attention to security if you add a log in to your main page, you can open a real can of worms there....
