What would you do if there's an unfamilar transaction on your credit card statement?

I recieve a transaction from <WP-INTERCARD FINAN MAIL ORDER> that billed me for USD9.95, my local transaction doesn't charge in USD so i presume that was a internet payment. That problem is, i don't recall such internet purchase and what made it more suspicion is i didn't even go online that day. Mysterious isn't it? It's not the amount i am concern, since it is on my account, i need to find out who pay for what?

I always keep track of my online purchases, but i wasn't sure if it is a un-authorise transaction, this is making me confuse. Does anyone knows or have any clue where the source of this transaction is from? <WP-INTERCARD FINAN MAIL ORDER>... or how would you deal with this kind of problem? (I'll be giving my bank a call)

Yes, call the bank... and find out as much as you can about the transaction... even reject it if you can.

But also try and find out who the company is that charged you, and give them a call and find out who they are and what they charged you for. If they fail to give you any information call your bank back and report your card stolen.... the card might not be but the number might.

They should replace the card at no charge and give you a better sense of security

That doesn't matter. I've purchased stuff online that doesn't show up on the credit card until several days later.

Talk to the bank and see what they say.

Hi IntelligentHosting.com,

There's actually 2 dates stated on my CC statement, one is the transaction and confirmation date. The transaction date is the actual date of sale where then confirmation is usually after a few day when my bank verify it, so i'm quite sure when i was charge.

Hi k9brian,

Yes, I've already called my bank and the first think i do was to check of the last transaction, phewww... no problem. Secondly, i told them about my enquiry and learn that they were unable to trace the source nor any product information unless i submit a dispute form to the higher authorities for further investigation which might took 6-8 weeks. I've yet made any confirmation, but will be quite certain that i'll get to the bottom of this.

I have the same problem Every month my card is charged 50 $ from something called "Web Services Upgrade". Since there isn't any contact info or phone number when my bank looks it up I have been forced to get a new credit card and asked for all the money back which also costs me something. It can be very annoying...:(
