As of sometime yesterday, www.icom.com disappeared. As the host of one of my sites, this obviously concerns me! Anyone have any info about this?

Anyone have any info about this? <<EDIT>> akashik 07-23-2001, 10:55 AM Concerned is probably an understatement. Odd though, the site looks dead, but a traceroute goes right through to Verio, then icom.com just fine. Looks like the site itself it just down (or missing an index page). Have you fired an e-mail off them them? Is there any other pages on the site you have links too you can check? If you own site is still running I wouldn't go into meltdown just yet. Greg Moore allera 07-23-2001, 11:05 AM Looks like Apache on port 80 died. They might be working on it: # telnet icom.com 80 Trying 128.121.214.219... telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused Might wanna call/email them (if you haven't already...) Phil Smith 07-23-2001, 11:18 AM Greg & allera, My site (dallasmusic.org) hosted by icom is indeed down. I always went to icom's home page for e-mail address' and phone numbers when I needed to contact them, so I don't have any contact info. But I just did a WHOIS search on my web address and was able to obtain a phone number (if anyone else needs it, it's: 1-800-266-4000). Got a recorded message that states they are aware of the problem(s) and are working on it. This is quite a relief! I very much expected to get a "this number is no longer in service" message. <<EDIT>> allera 07-23-2001, 11:46 AM I'm trying to telnet into several ports to see what's up. Telnet is down (no biggie), SSH is up, SMTP is accepting connections (not good IMO), web is still down, DNS is up, FTP is up (have you checked that?), POP3 is up... there a lot of things up. It seems like Apache is the only thing down. :) I'm sure they are probably working on some Apache problem... This is all assuming your site (and theirs) is house at wherever this IP points to: Name: icom.com Address: 128.121.214.219 Their domain resolves right away, but yours does not... their DNS may be having problems too? Phil Smith 07-23-2001, 06:15 PM allera, Thanks for the help! Shame you don't work for icom--I'm sure my site would be up and running by now... <<EDIT>> |
