a customer requested i change his database access to his domain name instead of localhost. i use cpanel and ssh. can someone please tell me how to achieve this?

I am not up on cpanel, but can't you just give him the ip address of the db box?

umm... alright, I'm a pretty new kid when it comes to linux. But you should be able to go and edit /etc/hosts, and add another alias for localhost.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I'm also not sure if every linux distro is setup like that, but for RH9 it's /etc/hosts
