I have been hosting with Site5 for about a month and a half. While everything is going great, I have recieved a bad batch of information from some of their staff with some empty promises. I needed a few libraries installed, and was told it would be done 'within the week' and it has yet to be done. The library names are 'libXml2' and 'libQdom'. It was extremely important to me that these were installed as the software that runs my site will not function without it. (I am only putting this here in hopes that Matt will read it).

Anyways... I must say I liked Site5's speed and reliability. Their support was so-so, but I could live with a day of waiting for my problems to be fixed.

I need some host that matches Site5's offerings and reliablity that I can contact about installing those libraries.

I would really appreciate everybody's help here in the matter in helping me to find a suitable web host that has good bandwith allowance and decent space as well as speed and reliablity. Site5 has it all, but if I can't run my site, I can't stay with them.

You might try stating what you have now and how much you pay in the "Web Hosting Offers and Requests" forum.
Just a thought. . . .

Try Hosting Matters (hostmatters.com). I am a customer there, which was on Site5 for a while and was on unhappy terms in the end. Hosting Matters has now moved to a new service provider through the same upstream provider and all systems are working great.

Hosting Matters offers all the site5 features and would probably be able o accomedate you, depending on what you need installed/reconfigged.

Thanks, nearly forgot :)

I'm under the WebExecutive plan at Site5 (http://www.site5.com/services/shared/comparison.html), and am looking for similar features and prices.

So if anybody can throw something out, I'm listening :)

You would have to be willing to pay a premium for better support at Hosting Matters. Yes, their prices are somewhat higher (and you will need to purchase additional features), but it is worth it.

IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO PAY MORE, I believe Wizardshosting.com is supposed to be a good service, and I believe their price scheme is comperable to Site5.I believe that the owner of WizardsHosting is a frequent visitor to WHT.

I checked everybody out. I ended up deciding not to go with site5 for a variety of reasons. Hostrocket was also a question mark but I'm quite sure I'm going with venturesonline. I've seen some very good posts here and so far it seems good. Also, you can cancel at any time and you aren't locked into all these other crazy hosting options I've seen elsewhere. Their prices are also pretty good....
