Anyone else using serverhost as a dedicated server provider? My server is located in the Greenville, SC NOC IIRC and i have not been able to connect to the server all day today. I tried calling Jeff's toll free 877 number, but i guess there closed on Sunday?

I talked to Jeff yesterday about the server being really really slow, his reply was "... there is a problem with one of the router cards. Working on it." They had that problem fixed within a few hours. Now i cant connect to my site, the serverhost.com site, or the plusweb.com site. Im kinda worried, i cant have my server down this long!

What can i do? Anyone know how to get in contact with Jeff? Is your serverhost server having the same problem? If so, where is the server located at?

Thanks everyone!

Well, looking at my webtrendslive stats, i havent had a visitor or page view in the last 4hrs.

Is there any way i can find out if its just my server, or where the problem is via ping? If so, how / where do i do that? Thanks all.

First off, i wanted to thank Joe from INTENSEinfo.com for helping me out, thank you!

It looks like theres a DNS problem, as i can connect to the site via the IP just fine, however not with the domain (working for 3 months now, odd).

So, isnt the point to a 2nd DNS server is for redudency (sp?)? ie, shouldnt they be on two different servers, incase one goes down?

Also, i noticed that 000domains.com lets you have more then 2 DNS entrys, anyone know of a free DNS server i can use to point my IP to my domain if the forst 2 dns servers go down?

Thanks in advance! :)

The only problem today was that the servers that host our DNS and main web pages were attacked. There was no loss of network connectivity or power, just loss of DNS services. We agree, the response times of the provider in Greenville were unacceptable (about seven hours from start to finish; I ended up having to drive over there to fix the problem after finally getting someone on the phone). Only three dedicated server customers that requested to be in the Greenville location were affected. We should have the Atlanta location online soon, and everyone in Greenville will be moved there.

SnoTurtle: If you tried to call us on the toll-free number, you should have gotten at least voicemail... Why didn't you leave a message? I was probably here in the office but on the phone when you called... and I would have received your message within minutes. The first message I got from you was on ICQ at 7:13, over two hours after you posted the message here.

Any serverhost.com customer should try and contact us directly, using the contact information provided to you. If you do not have our after business hours contact information, feel free to e-mail us so that we can provide you with it.

I appreciate your help. But, had the client contacted us about the problem, your help wouldn't have been necessary. We don't like support to be handled in a public forum like Webhostingtalk... in fact, I think it's against the rules.

Anyway, I apologize for the inconvenience caused to anyone affected, and appreciate that you looked out for us Joe.

Sorry if this broke the rules.

Jeff, how many ICQ msg's did you get? I sent two, my first at 11:45am, a 2nd at 5:13pm. Also, i dont have the phone number on hand, but it just rang and rang, no answering machine picked up. I only called once, an hour after the first ICQ msg :)

Again, sorry for taking this public, im glad its fixed, thats all.

I probly should say that i havent had any real problems with serverhost in the last 3 months. This weekend was kinda freaky, i cant wait to have the server moved to atlanta :)

I only got one ICQ message before I responded to you... at 7:13 PM, as stated above.

In any case, SnoTurtle, please contact me for our contact information... maybe what you have is incorrect.

Wow... I have to be awake in less than six hours. Scary.
