Lets start a thread that mentiones all the hosts you have been really happy with. All we get 24/7 bad ones. So lets talk about great ones. (I hope there are some?)

I've been using Surpass Hosting (http://www.surpasshosting.com) for six months and I'm happy with them! :)

Been staying at www.HostMatix.com for about a year now. Have three big sites running there and I'm just loving everything about it.

Been with tera-byte.com for over a year without issue... blazing fast support responses (within 15 minutes always) and a fast site - happiness.

Yes Tera-byte.com is another great host in western Canada.

I've been using http://www.PerfectHost.net for 5 months and the only support needed was when they had informed me of an ip change and I forgot to do it.

I encourage all of you to check out phpwebhosting (http://www.phpwebhosting.com/).

I've used them for a while now and they are a great host that responds quickly to help queries and provides unlimited features, plus PHP/Mysql support and more! I've recommended them to my friends, and at $10/month I think they're great. :)

Actually I inquired about something once, and gave same some background and wanted some more info as to getting hosting from them, well their response was the same day hours later and was a one liner, like they don't give a s_it.

Advanced rack is also very good. I've been with them for about two weeks now and there hasn't been a second downtime, it's also very fast, even from Europe.

If you're looking for great support try hostgator or datah.com
i've used both of them in the past :D

If you're on a really tight budget then try p4host.com :)

I think it depends what server you're on with them. I've seen both good and bad reviews of them. Just an FYI in case anyone is considering them. Do a little research on them first.

I meant search these forums for reviews on phpwebhosting BEFORE you decide to go with them. So you can form your own opinion. Being that I have seen bad reviews.

I have a couple of servers with Rackshack since March, and have had no problems or downtime that wasn't my own fault.

I have been with www.echoterra.com for almost over an year now. They are trustworthy, reliable and they have great support. I would definetly recommend them to anyone. They are located at Stoneville, North Carolina. I have gotten no problems with them, and I am extremely happy with them.

I've been with AvidNewMedia (http://hosting.avidnewmedia.com) for about a year now and everything has really been perfect. Cheap, fast, always up, and the service is absolutely amazing. My only problem was with configuring Outlook to connect to my mail server (the problem was obviously on my end, not theirs)...I had back and forth email support until the problem was fixed...probably about 15 emails in an hour or two. Now that they have a help desk and support message board, it's even easier to get fast help.

I say, you can't go wrong with avidnewmedia.

I've only been with UnitedHosting for 2-3 months, but I'm turning a profit. And couldn't have done it without the help of Matt, Simon, and the UH forum folks.

Of course, I couldn't have done any of that without the fine folks in this forum. ;)

I put a server in Dialtone in 2001, loved them up until Interland bought them and moved all of their servers to COGENT bandwidth...fired 60% of their support team...and well....made everything suck

Now I put servers in the planet (and yes..they do actually call you when your servers appear to be down)

I've had an account at clook.net for about a week now. I know that's not really enough time to judge them. So far the support has been great and I've had no problems with them. I filed a support ticket asking for my site to be transferred from my old host to them (both were Cpanel). I think the whole process from me filing the first ticket till they replied saying it was done was at most 15 minutes. They even have a second site at clook.info that has their Faq's and forums, etc. This is the first host I haven't had any stress with. The uptime for the server I'm on can be seen here http://uptime.alertra.com/uptime2?id1=318093&id2=1934

So far they've been great. If you want to be cheap, my previous host...well not counting the one I was with for a few days in between, was superuser.net. They are cheap and have good uptime and I never really had any problems. I just could never figure out how to get a hold of their support the one time i needed to.:(

I heard a lot about United hosting, and checked out hwo their net block owners are, one of them is RackShack, and the other one was "Jewish Home for the Aged," I kid you not. I could not really find the site for that net block owner, making me think there is something strange. Perhaps a tax shelter (not sure of tax laws in the UK, if it is in the UK).

I have a site with www.linuxwebhost.com for over 2 years now and they are great. The very few problems I had were resolved quite fast.

For 1 month I am supporting a second site with www.lunarpages.com and they seem solid too. What I like most about them is their forum - fast & easy way to get answers. Great price/package value too.

I don't post too often, but I've been reading WHT for a long time. This thread is a good idea :) I've been using phenominet.com for almost 2 years, about to renew for a third year soon. Their support is very fast and I've experienced very little downtime with them :)

I've been with http://insiderhosting.com for a little while now, and their support crew is AWESOME. Rarely, do you wait for a ticket to be answered (its usually within the first 10 minutes of sending you hear a reply), and they have amazing uptime, great hosting plans.. everything needed :)

First time post for me.

I have to agree with insiderhosting. I was happy customer with host-radius.com for 3 months (support/uptime was great but their servers were not the fastest of the bunch), recently they were acquired (or sold to) by insiderhosting. So far so good, the transition was smooth, pricing plans were untouched and they moved everyone to decent servers.

Just filed my first support ticket with insiderhosting. It was actually something I did wrong (wrong password) so within 2 minutes I closed it [ticket] myself. By that time support at insiderhosting had already reset my password. Not saying that this is typical but I was quite shocked. Maybe it's a quiet day over there!!!

One host that is good and has excellent customer service is http://www.aussiehosts.com and the related sites of the Edit Group. It's still a mystery if Gary ever sleeps or not. :D

Another host where a friend has a site at is http://www.rivalpro.net. It's a small hosting company based out of Canada and Matt there is very attentive with his clients.

I am actually putting together a mega-review of most of our 43 hosts. Seriously. Big task, big post. Hopefully worth reading when it comes.

Early front runners: Pair, AlwaysWebHosting, Fasthosts.co.uk.

Coming in strong: Rochen, Netcetera, Myacen, Westhost, OpenHosing.Co.UK.

Nowhere near finished yet though, so the above is just a partial incomplete snapshot

But in all honesty, it's horses for courses. All this needs a context as they all have strengths and weaknesses, and the above evaluations will change.

Not to mention of course that I will name and shame. All IMHO.

I just think you need to add a little other than good/bad. Like why.

I'll try to complete it in the next few weeks, the above being a snapshot of early feelings.

I would highly recommend CyberWeb3.net http://www.cyberweb3.net

On June 7th I wrote the following review
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=151809&highlight=cyberweb3

I had only been with then for about a week and some said I should revisit and post another review when I was with them for a month.

I am now with CyberWeb3.net for almost two months and I can only praise them for their superior service and customer service. AND... caring!

You will see from reading my prior review that I came to them with a bag full of problems. That only got worse as I had to rebuild (am still rebuilding) some of the elements of my site! Through this all... they were there for me and helped the best they could to get me straightened out.

The latest thing that I remember quite clearly is an event that happened last week. It was about 1 AM EST and I and a technical consultant were testing a program file that could have caused havoc on the server! There was a possibility that it could have hung the server.

I contacted CyberWeb3.net's tech support and gave them an SOS about this and told them that I would contact them as soon as I saw there was a problem. (I just wanted to know that someone was around before I did anything!) They wrote back quickly and told me to go ahead. The program ran successfully and there was no problem, but the fact that they responded to me in LESS THAN 10 minutes proved that they ARE there to help at all times, AND... want their customers to be happy.

I can't applaud them enough for their superior service, attitude and professionalism. I have never had a host like this and would recommend them to all.

Visit CyberWeb3.net http://www.CyberWeb3.net
for superior web hosting and caring!

Sincerely,

Roz

Been with ServerSonic (http://www.serversonic.com) since late January 2003 after getting away from FeaturePrice. Have been satisfied with the services and have no complaints. The only issue that there may be for some individuals is that they aren't the fastest with support (answering questions). But it isn't an issue to me since I never have a reason to contact them for anything.

I've had another website hosted through a local company, ExtremeZone, for several years. Extremely reliable and professional. I can't even tell you the last time there has been down time. It is however more expensive than your average host. Not made for the people looking for everything for cheap, lol. Really meant for businesses and such that need a good host where they don't have to worry about emails being down, site being down, etc. I've been very satisfied with them.

Best Reseller all the way! For anyone that wants a reseller account this is the host for you! Best Reseller gave me the best support.

They are also much cheaper than ANY of the other Reselling website out there. They give me exactly what I wanted at an unbelivable price.

I'm still at CyberNet3.net and their customer support and service is superb as far as I am concerned!

Compared to where I came from WHN -- www-hosting.net I feel like I died and went to *host heaven* at CyberWeb3.net http://www.CyberWeb3.net

I apologize for sounding like an advertisement, but these people are treating me right and I think they deserve to get the credit for it.

A more detailed message about their services and all is above this someplace written on July 25, 2003. (this thread!)

Well... I used infodoma.com and it was a great little host, until it went the same way as some other small hosts. Support was great thanks to Tuffy, and the servers had great uptime and the connection was fast.

I'm using unitedhosting.co.uk for my boss's sites, and they have been great so far, but I didn't expect them not to be. I recomended them to my boss because of the great reputation they have. There have only been one real problem, but it's being dealt with, and the problem seems to be a combination of different things where UH is just a small part. They have been very helpful in pin pointing the problem and testing things.

When I left infodoma, I was in a hurry, and so I ended up becoming a reseller for myacen.com. They were very helpful in the hurried move, and I had a very long e-mail conversation about my concerns and worries. It all turned out just fine. They have some useful tutorials to get you started when you have to jump in feet first in WHM.

Now... I haven't been with UH or Myacen long enough to make long term reviews, but so far they have both been great. I expect it to stay that way. In the future, if my own hosting takes off, I think I will keep my own site hosted by Myacen even if I get my own server, at least that's my dream ;) I don't like to move around from host to host, so that would be perfect.
