I posted a question about when the government is going to stop crooks like SI and posted a link to a site of another person they didnt pay and freewebspace.net deleted my post because they dont support lies and slander. Guess they are being paid by SI....

This is just general ranting, not aimed specifically at you John, just so you know...

Really, the problem is that anyone can come to any board and post that they've been ripped off by some company. When this happens here, we often get reports by the host/company in question saying that this person violated the TOS or whatever, and then they demand that the thread be locked/thrown.

As you can probably tell, this then puts the thread into that 'grey' area. We don't know what really happened, who is telling the truth, who isn't, who's on first (eh?)...

It is horrible for the host/company, horrible for the member that has to prove they were indeed wronged, and horrible for us moderator types as well. Ugly all around. We try our best to get to the bottom of it when these things come up, but often we really just don't know. We are forced to make a decision and often it might be unfair to the host (who *was* right), unfair to the member (who has a story to tell), or unfair to the members at large (eliminating discussion that is of value and would help others). Sometimes this isn't fair, but such is life. What I suggest (if it ever happens to you) is to present your side of the story as professionally as possible.

Before you know it, someone will claim they've been served a fried chicken head at McDonalds :D

Peo is the one that said it was removed because he doesnt support lies and slander. Well he lost a user right there. He admits he is in SI's pockets.

I would have to agree with Chicken on the difficulty in deciding these type of situations. It's not easy and I don't pretend like I always do the right thing. I don't.

I'm sorry venomx, but in this case there where some problems with your post, which I explained to you in two private messages on the FreeWebspace.net forum.

First of all in this particular situation you did not back up your claims ("crooks", "ripoff" etc) with anything other than a link to some anonymous guys site (partly adult site from what I could understand) where he had posted that someone else (!) had not been paid by that advertiser. The posted link was also a referral link (we don't allow that)...

As Chicken pointed out, present your case as professionaly as possible and you would have had a very good chance of getting your post accepted.

Take a look at there forum i dont think 5000+ users are being cheated do you? they seem to all get paid? Follow there TOS or get the boot :)

I agree, SIC have a good reputation and pay on time according to most of their members. They also have a pretty good business plan.

But i also heard stories of people getting their account killed for various reasons (of course, most of them cheated :D ) but some didn't. Off the xxxxx members they have and all the cheaters, i am sure they must make mistakes here and there killing accounts for a missunderstanding (sp.), but it's hard to have an idea before having heard both the user and company stories :)

I could be wrong but I beleive this is all very old news (like over a year old), and that the whole story was told on FWS. Maybe John can just provide a link to that thread over there?

e-mailpaysu.com is a place that allows people to send emails to you and you get paid. The "adult site" that Peo talks about is one line that says that they added an adult catagory for adult emails if you wish to send/receieve them. There is NO adult content.

The reason you only see good posts about SI is because they have stopped the people from posting it to web boards by paying off the web board owners or makeing threats to sue them.
