Before you rush and tell me to use the search function to raise your post count, I would like to say that i have used it and read other previous threads but am still undecided on which to choose. I would like for you all to give me your deepest feelings about each to make me decided on which. My main control panel is cpanel and am looking for some account creation, and something that keeps everything in order and will be around for a while longer.

WHM Autopilot works well for me.. I suppose it depends on what you need your billing software to do.

If its fairly basic, accepts payments, setup accounts.. then WHM Autopilot right now would work well for you. If you need more advanced features like enom integration to sell domain names, etc.. then you might want to go with Modern Bill.

Autopilot is supposed to be getting enom integration in a couple weeks.. and they just added coupon codes and free trials.

Would anyone else like to mention a few words about whm autopilot or modernbill that would help make up my mind? Do both have a bright future? Which development team works the fastest?

Brandee over at whm autopilot always answers my questions pretty quickly, and from what I can see WHM AP has a pretty decent future (apparently they've got a lot of new stuff coming out in a couple of weeks). :)

TMK - MB has a team of developers as WHMAP has Brandy only.

Both bright futures - WHMAP is going to have to play major catch up to really be compared.

WHMAP - I used it and it is nice, but really like using NIXT.

It's more a automation tool and not a full billing system.

Sorry to say after 2 weeks of placing my order with modernbill

I can't login, I can't download I can't do anything.

And I really feel I have not been helped or not taken seriousely.

First support ticket took about five days? Next one after that 3 days? Next after that 1 day?

With the grand result of absolutely nothing!

WHM Autopilot:

PROS:
1. Far more easy to set up, Worked with minimal configuration
2. More easy to use, No cluttered
3. Has everything I need except ENOM (comming soon) without stuff I dont need
4. Is $149.95 for unlimited license compared to Modernbills $499.95
5. Has a good signup system not a 20min one like MB
6. Intergrates better

CONS:
1. No ENOM (Soon though)
2. Signup form is not Templated (DAM SHAME)

When using 2checkout/paypal with modernbill, how does the process work? Will modernbill handle recurring to the point where it auto bills the client without them having to click or entering their info every month to make payments? because i really dont like chasing clients to pay.

Go take a look at what we got, and compair to MB's. Our target market is for people that are new to hosting and the MB one is too complex for our users.

You can set it with a cronjob.

Nope, it's an invoicing system. See, 2CO is famous for not listening to clients, which is the real problem here, not Modernbill. See when a person signs up (via 2CO) there is a "callback" that you are probably aware of, that "notifies" you that there has been a purchase. The problem is, it only happens once (on first payment) and not on recurring payments, which has been requested but 2CO pretty much said they won't add new features for another few months.
That is the problem, without the callback on every recurring charge, how would modernbill know if the person actually paid, or the CC was declined?
Regarding PayPal, I believe someone wrote a module that allows you to do recurring with paypal, but you'd have to order it and check the support forums :).

Ive used WHMautopilot now for about 3 weeks and love it. Personally, I think the order form is a bit more visually attractive than MB.

But, it all will depend on your personal opinion.

I can't see the new order form in Phase 1 beta of 4.0.3 yet. It was actually supposed to be ready in the 1st quarter. :eek:

I have used both and both have their benefits. The good thing about WHMAuto is that it will allow the pass through to recurring at 2CO. Don't confuse this with full integration though. Once the intial 2CO transaction is done, it pases them back to your site/WHMAuto interface, and depending on how you have it set, automatically sets them up or gives confirmation.

The part that is still missing (a flaw of 2CO, this is part of the same reason it doesn't work in MBill) is that after the initial transaction, there is no further passback. You have to manually update WHMAutol with the transaction each month, but at least the customer does not have to enter their card number each month.

PaySystems has a better integration than 2CO for WHMAuto.

I can say that Brandee at WHMAutopilot is awesome. She has helped me numerous times when in reality she really didn't have to. I always get answers in less than an hour in most cases.

Like I said, both have their benefits. MBill currently has more payment processors supported than WHM.

Now if only 2CO would listen to their customers and do something about the passback.....wishfull thinking I suppose...
