it had been posted on the forusm only, never been mailed about it, or asked or... anything that would have been good for us before knowing we will be moved to a CRAPPY WEB HOST, WHO JUST CAN'T HAVE HIAS IMAGES TO LAOD ON IS SITE.

Frankly, I don't know what to think of all of that.... What should we do? (geez, now, cpanel got a invalid lisence number, cannot even do a full backup... Hoping my ftp is still accessible when I get home...)

Did edge host offer SSH? you could always go in tar /home/username and salvage most if not all your data. Then i'd move on to a new host...

SSH? I know I could access it from my Cpanel.. I'mve tried with the telnet client given by WinXP and it says the connexion ahd been refused....

As for changing host, don't worry, if it was not to habve paid for a full year in the time Edgehost was something good (thanks Alex :P) I would have moved already.

I think my account finish in october...

Hard to believe that a Host would toss all his shared/reseller clients to a new host without prior notification.

That's some pretty poor business tactics.

I agree, if they were going out of business I could sort of see that action. Since they want to continue with dedicated servers though, they likely just burned all the bridges with their resellers.

Are they making you pay again with AllProHost? On a side note, All Pro Host looks like a joke and I feel sorry for all of you getting tossed there.

I don't know if they'll make us pay for anything, they only thing we know is that we're being moved. I don't even know if I'm already moved or when I'll be...

my site is still up.. never experienced much downtime.. just some intermitment downtime & loss of cpanel access... currently haven't been able to get into the cpanel for a couple of days - but i'm told this issue will be rectified soon.

*shrug* it's just a hobby/fun site, and it still works, and it's cheap.

(must be logged in to view - you know, work safe)

Their 1 day notice was insufficient, and their reply is this thread unprofessional. I'd run quickly. Good Luck!

Okay this thread has been cleaned up sustantially. Please if you are a host, try to act professionally if you want credibility, puke smileys (one example) won't do that.

Eventually you could see that something like this was going to happen. I'm glad I already moved to a different webhost. I guess thinking that things would get better with EdgeHost wasn't a good thing for me to do.

Although I pay more now for hosting, it's worth every penny and it sure gives me piece of mind. Honestly, it gets pretty boring at times when everything is running smoothly. :)

hrmm, my site's been taking 45seconds to load today...

As a note, the allhostpro site offers 2G of space for $10. IMHO there should be some alarms there; they will either oversell the space or find themselves in a pickle; you can't sell a service for what it costs you and expect to pay your own salary.

Their forum is already offline. It's hard to believe that it came to this but there is obviously only about 50 clients left (seriously) so I guess he thought they weren't the effort they paid for.

went off for the week-end... Edgehost is down. My site is down. No possibilities for backup. Nothing. I really hope that this allprohost thingny will get my site back up as they where supposed as "new owner of edgehost's accounts"...

Inho Edgehost should refund some money to their clients (to those who paid a full year) and let them choose their new host.

I am quite sure that EdgeHost did not give these accounts to Allpro for free..

Just out of curiosity what did you guys pay for a years worth of hosting and just how much did you get? (disk and bandwidth)

don't quite remember... ;) lol might have been something like 100CAD$ (maybe 60$USD) for 100mo disk 2go bandwisdth.... But I remember seeing in my CPanel I had 1 go dis space finally....

okay, still no access to Cpanel (invalid lisence file) but eh, that's better then anything!

My big question, is WHY are you even still with them? This whole huga saga has been going on for several months now. And if you didn't pack up and leave, WHY did you do your own daily/weekly backups of your site. From what I have heard, and from what I have followed with the whole EdgeHost crap, I would of been out the door months ago...refund or not.

happy you have the $$ to quit your host at any time you want. My subscribtion wasn't mean to change until something like october. That money isn't thinked in my budget right now. Since I just can't pay it right now, I can't get away right now. That fairly simple.

You said you paid "like $60 for the year"...so that breaks down to $5 a month. You can't afford that to move? Sounds like your website isn't all that important to you. I hope its not a business site.

of course it's not a business site, that's my "test" and personnal thigny server...
