I am in the market for a dedicated server. The specs I am interested are very similar to a thread posted by someone else. To save me some typing, here it is:
PIII 800 Processor
512 MB RAM
RedHat Linux 6.2
Exim or Sendmail
WuFTP or ProFTPd
FrontPage 2000
PHP 4.04 w/Zend
MySQL
WHM/Cpanel
Backup Program
50 GB Bandwidth
Unlimited IPs (I only need about 50 to start, but I do not want to have a problem getting additional IPs)
Please give the price of additional IPs and extra bandwidth.
You can post quotes here, or you can use the email link on the forums.
Thanks in advance.

Questions for Jbiz. :D
What Ensim license is supplied with your servers? 10 domain, 250 domain? And how do you measure bandwidth usage? 95 percentile, average usage?
Cheers.

Well,
We use server xchange. So its a little different then the version you can buy on demand from them
There isnt a limit set, but i wouldnt recommend for the servers sake that you put more then 200-250, if you want the server to run well.
It really depends on the sites you have.
In regards to bandwidth. We give you 100gb, when you use 100gb of true bandwidth you will get billed more.
Hope that helps

Is this recommended limit of 200-250 sites something to do with Server Xchange ?.
What is the average site you had in mind while deciding on this limit ?. (Space , bandwidth )

Well
That s a Maximum
It really depends on what type of site your have.
If there small sites with little demand from the cpu, then you may be able to get more.
If there high cpu driven sites obviously you cant stick that many on there.
That our recommended limit. We usually will max a server at 200 domains at the most depending on charts and performance.
This has nothing to do with server xchange.
Obviously if you have this:
Dual PIII 1ghz
2gb of ram
and alot of bandwidth, you can stick alot on there maybe 3-400 depending on the server load and sites.
We have a few clients with the specs listed above that have easily had 150 on there. Though most of them raise the RAM for the server, and do buy more bandwidth.
Hope that helps
Joe
