I just saw php.net released the beta 1 of php5. and its available for download.
It also says there that mysql client libraries will not be included due to certain licensing restrictions.
So what? You can still install MySQL yourself, MySQL functions will still work. All it means is that the MySQL libraries aren't bundled with the software. I think it had to do with MySQL changing their license. It's a non-issue :)
beta 1? Oooh just think of the exploits waitin to happen.

... This is news to me. Could someone post a link about MySQL changing the license? I couldnt find anything new on their site.

They switched to GPL. I'm sure there's more in-depth info about it on some of the tech news sites

Yes they did... nearly three years ago :). It had something to do with crediting MySQL or something, so they decided to just have you download the binaries from MySQL. This is just a Beta 1 so a new situation may be worked out to include them in PHP5.
