I don't seem to be able to use the generic Matt's Formmail.cgi, but am restricted to a cgi-sys FormMail.cgi.

The cpanel version seems faulty, as instead of 'error redirect to foo.html', it appears to simply dump the cgi content for anyone to see, including absolute files from root /web/userid/etc etc.

I've had this will all cpanels tried on different hosts and the FAQ doesn't seem to mention this.

My question is this: Is it possible to use formmail regular in place of formmail cpanel?

I've tried running formmail regular from severl locations on cpanel hosting, including cgi-bin / scgi-bin with both 775 and 755 chmods, but it won't work.

Thanks

The cpanel version also leaves out the best version of Matt's Formail, it doesn't offer the redirect on error! I can't believe they don't update some of that stuff, it also has an old outdated insecure version of NeoMail.

Use a formmail clone, preferable one that offers some PGP encryption, at least this will help a little bit :-)

Try out the formmail clone called simplesecure

I like the PGPMail... I have used it for a long time. Simple secure looks like a different version of the same thing. They are both based on matts formmail.

I would reccommend either one. They are both free too.

Try asking ... you never know what will get accepted and rejected until you ask..

Actually we re-wrote simplesecure, because some of the stuff was very wierd, but now I think we (Sharp Web) has the best formmail clone out there, it has a few added features :-)
