Hello fellow WHT members. I am wondering if any of you have experience with them, or with their "Free dedicated servers". Are they any good? Any comments about them, previous experiences, etc.
http://freeservers.intelli-host.com/

Thanks :)

This thread should probably be in the Dedicated & Colo forum.

Anyway, the site looks like a bad rip-off of efreeservers. Since the plans, etc. are the same, I'm 99.9% sure they're reselling for them anyway. If you're considering intelli-host, then I'd go directly with efreeservers. The common problem/gripe/complaint about efreeservers is that you have to sign a 20 month contract (which is very long).

I can assure that the site design itself is, indeed, original. The free server section is VERY similiar to EFS's, because we do resell their dedicated servers and co-location and as such, decided not to fix something that wasn't broken:).
However, everything else is original, and provided by US on OUR servers.:stickout

I am very sorry if i say something wrong ...but it really looks like you took the design from efreeservers.com :(

Compare text & graphics at:
http://www.intelli-host.com/colo.htm
-and
http://colocation.efreeservers.com/

...even the mouse-over graphics have the same colors, the bandwidth table too and the "terms and conditions button" on the bottom is from ***** (see http://www.*****.com/ on the bottom) Have a god night everyone :)

If anyone has any concerns over graphics or layout, feel free to email the CEO, Jacques, at efreeservers:(info@efreeservers.com).

I spent a great deal of time working with EFS in a technical capacity, and thought it would be a great idea to be able to offer hosting and resell their servers and colo too. If anything is the same, it is because I have permission and thought it worked well with the layout I came up with.

For anyone else that's interested, I don't mind plugging them either, because they have a sweet reseller deal if you don't have your own data center to sell servers in.:)

Okies, if you have permission then that's great. Just tired of seeing lots of stolen designs lately ...but i wish you good luck :)

Thanks
Quite frankly, the web guy at EFS is a much better web designer than I am, so I was fortunate to be able to lift some graphics.:stickout

D00D,

In my correspondences with Intelli-host, the staff has been efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly.

If you are looking for a host that cares about its customers, I think Intelli-host fits the category.:agree:

sbrad, on your site I see no mention of a min BW limit, so I could buy say 3 gigs a month, thats 4.50 a month and have your full use of a server? How can you afford this, but if its true I might sign up, gives a poor student room to grow.

Thank you
Jason Miller:homer:

btw can I have nakid but not nakeed or none of the above on your server?

Editing here, never mind, I went all the way to the order form, you have to buy a min of 200 gigs, oh well.

hehe
Ok, that would fall under our "starter" plan.
You get a 486DX2, 16mb ram and Win 3.11.
Do you want to pre-pay yearly?
:eek3:

Hi Sbrad, I Dont understand this "free dedicated server" thing. What do i have to pay for as nothing can be totally free.

Ben,

The Server is actually free, as it is your prized possession after the lease is over - but you have to pay the $299 minimum each month for bandwidth costs.

I believe you get 200 gigs transfer for $299 - which Is a pretty good deal for bandwidth. ~$1.50/gig

But, if you are planning on needing a dedicated solution - and are going to use some pretty large bandwidth amounts - I would suggest going this route if you need a Solid performer like the Sun Nextra X Servers or the Dell PowerApp servers.

-Also, on another note you can have one time upgrade fees for your hardware, instead of being charged every month.

That's about the extent of my knowledge. You should look around the site some more to see what it offers and what the terms are. I've been very happy thus far.

Yet again i get my hopes up to be brought back down :(

No different really to most deciated servers to be honest i no way need that amount of bandwith so i will think ill have to give them a miss. Do you know of any good reseller plans?
