Great forums, but could anyone give me an idea even where is should start with some software?

We will be getting our own dedicated server soon for a product we want to launch, and a side aspect of the prodict is that hosting will come bundled with it. Never having been involved with hosting before, its pretty daunting trying to work out what software does what and why.

Basically all we need is something simple (and preferably cheap) that will auto setup hosting accounts on a Win2k system once payment has been made. It doesnt need to have fancy control panels or a thousand options, just needs to be able to auto setup directory, move files and hook in to IIS to create it. Something that would handle domain name registrations would be nice, but isnt really vital.

Can anyone help or at least point me in the right direction?

Many Thanks

SG

Yes I can point you in the right direction. The SEARCH link just in between "Calendar" and "Rules".

That didnt help me at all, and dont assume because I know nothing about forums because I'm unfamiliar with webhosting software. I had already searched.

Next time you need some help I hope I can be the one to write a one line sarcastic reply. Still, it increased your postcount eh?

not sure of any good software control panels for w2k (is there even any?) I would suggest running redhat and use Cpanel and WHM.. that would be easy for you to admin and your users would love the control panels. (and if you just host yourself, the cpanel makes everything easier)

good luck with your ventures.

Oh no! I've become what I have always hated. Sorry for the sarcastic reply. I dont have a real answer to your question. I've heard of people using H-Sphere for windows hosting. What you need is a web hosting automation system.
