webmin is somthing that can be used to help do things quickly but you should still check out some of the command line information in those 2 links.

They will not, however, help you secure the box... that is OS/software dependant and there is no definative guide.

You better read manuals for everything. Someday your mass f knowlegde becomes good quality.
