how many times a month would a 103.3mb .mov have to be viewed to reach 6gig of bandwidth?
How would I figure this out?

Thank you

6000 / 103.3 = 58.05 times

you can try password protecting the file and ask your visitors to email you for the password before d/ling

well that would kind of kill the reason I have it up, its a film I wrote diricted and produced. So the point isto promote myself the file is on my schools server, right now I doubt its a problem as its summer and most of the student sites are down but as soon as fall hits they will probably start taking the larger files down. its at http://students.ou.edu/M/Jason.E.Miller-1/

well I just called the school, and they said it wouldnt be a problem to keep it on their server, so I have another question.

If I buy hosting, and I do all the html on that server but link to the .movs on the schools server, so it plays on the on the html page on my host, do they both read the bandwidth of that file of just the school.

another option would be sence the school doesnt ave a dns, then maybe someone offers a redirict serves? any ideas?

thank you

More exact # would be 59.5 times. 6GB = 6144MB, so 6144/103.3 = 59.477.

If the file is located on your school's server, then the bandwidth will only increase on the server in which the file is located, your school.

Ahh, nothing like abusing my schools bandwidth and pulling it at 2.0 MB/s.

Have you compressed it well?

Take a look at div-x ;-) compression? Its really good for films..
