Before I migrate to one of these three Contro Panels I am leaning more towards Hsphere, but I wanted to know what the users and customers really prefer, CPanel, Plesk, or Hsphere, or it really doesn't matter.

Well, there does not exist a good way to determinte. There are numeral polls that has been taken to answer this kind of question. Most of them fail to normalize the poll results. There are many more CPanel users than HSphere users, for example. And thus, the poll does not tell anything more than telling us there are indeed more CPanel users than HSphere users. To normalize this, the one who answers your questions should at least have tried and know well about all three control panels, Plesk, Cpanel, and HSphere.

I have never used Plesk, but I have used both Cpanel and HSphere and my vote will go to HSphere.

Come on now Dave, obviously, the more users for a control panel is going to show more preference for it. I disagree for the "try all three", because then your poll would be useless since SO few people have actually tried more then 1 or 2 control panels. In my opinion (using both), end-users definately prefer CPanel, in the majority. Power users, that have been doing it for a while, aren't all that fond of CPanel's "newbie" interface, and prefer a less fancy and more indepth interface.
Keeping that in mind, Plesk is probably the most used hosting control panel (per user) then Ensim, CPanel and HSphere combined. Plesk is still used by every major hosting company (that haven't developed an inhouse control panel).
Overall, I'd say that Plesk would be the best "all around" control panel. The interface is fairly simple, more potential customers have used it then other control panels, and it has proven itself to be very very stable.

Actually, no. For me it's one possible indication that CPanel has been around longer than HSphere and hence have a bigger share of market, especially in WHT. There has been a strong tie beetween CPanel's growth here in WHT and WHT itself. I've been around here for three years and without WHT, CPanel (at that time, it has a close tie with VDI) may not be where it is now.

And of course, WHT is only a small part of the whole hosting industry itself. If the poll is to be done somewhere else, I would be sure that the result will be completely different than if it's done here.

Having said all these, I have am not here to discredit CPanel. I am amazed at what Nick been doing lately and his progress with CPanel. We are also a CPanel Partner NOC. But there were reasons why we decided to migrate from CPanel to HSphere, and I am standing by these reasons.

As useless as it may sound, that's the only way a poll is going to give any significant and statistically-sound meaning. That's the only way to normalize the poll, unless if you know of any other way.

It may be true but unfortunately I can't say anything about Plesk since my experience with Plesk is only limited to their demo onsite which last I tried was three years ago, I believe. However, it's true that Plesk might have the biggest market still. That's why, when you do the poll somewhere else, it will give you different result. WHT, as I see it, is very biased towards CPanel. Learn it's history here and you will see why.

I have used Plesk and HSphere, I would go towards HSphere and infact I will be purchasing HSphere very soon for my servers :)
