What is the difference between a normal image and a splash image?

Offhand I don't recognize the term "splash image" as meaning anything in particular other than an image on a splash page of a site or an application. Or perhaps it was used in connection with the web editing software called Splash.

Could you use it in a sentence, demonstrating the context you mean?

I don't know about normal image.. But a splash image usually takes up about 1/4 to 1/3 the screen.
