Hello,
The Raq4r has 2 different versions. One version has a setup of 2 20GB HD's in Raid formation. The other version has a setup of 2 30GB Hd's in Raid formation. On Cobalt's website, the Raq 4r with 30GB (2) Hd's go for about $3,599.

Just my 2 cents.

Actually, there are 3 versions of the RaQ4:

RaQ4, RaQ4i, RaQ4r

You can see the differences at: http://www.cobalt.com/products/raq/howtobuy.html

RaQ4 is the standard
RaQ4i is the one with dual NICs
RaQ4r is the one with the dual drives & RAID

Thanks.

What is the performance gain from RaQ3?

Compared to P3 750Mhz which is faster?

Can a Raq4i be updated with an extra drive and then the Raq4r OS put on it...

Has anyone tried this?

It should be able to - there should be 2 IDE connectors and 2 power plugs for the drives. And I'm not sure if the 4i shipped with the needed 2nd drive "sled" to mount the disk into. Then just do an OSRestore with the RaQ 4r OSRCD (make sure you use the up-to-date version at ftp://ftp.cobalt.sun.com/pub/iso/ so that >30GB HD will be properly partitioned) and away you go.

Oh yeah, and install all listed patches on the RaQ 4 patch update page...
