When you transfer a domain to stargateinc.com do they require you to fax them?

Sorry if I posted this to the wrong group but I wasnt sure which one it went in now..

NO, no fax is required. When you make the request, the current Admin contact will receive an Email asking for verification. If that is verified, then they send the request to the registrar of record for transfer. They allow 5 days for a response.

Is there any down time during the transfer?

No, your DNS information remains the same. Nothing within the root servers change.

While your domain should never go down during a transfer, there is one other thing you should be aware of. Once the transfer process starts, you cannot change any information on the domain (including DNS servers or contact info) until the process is complete...

Asolutely no complaints.
But I prefer stargate and godaddy.

Stargate does have some problems with their systems off late, This is more so with transfer of domains,
I have a bulk account there and have registered about 40 or so domains in last month and a half from them

for 4-5 domains it happened that the domain got transfered to them and they did not add up 1 year to expiry, Strange isnt it.
I had to email them and contact them on human click each time, I confimed with andrew at stargate that they are indeed having some problems and are working on the same, But problems do get sorted out with them but you have to mail them 1-2 times and contact on humanclick

I have transfered a domain aashysh.com to them , See whois for the domain on networksolutions, It will show that it is at stargate,
Now go to stargate and check it in their whois , it will say not found,
Strange, I have never seen anything like that,
I contacted them and got info that registrant and whois info for the domain is somehow lost :(
So had to send them info and requested username and password again to be added manually, i send them this 2 days ago still waiting for some response or action.

So currently i am doing only new registrations out there and very few transfers. Just till their systems are through with their maintenence.

I have not faced any problems with them on new registrations though

Well my domains from register.com to stargateinc.com are moved already.

I just got the email from opensrs asking if I was wishing to move and replied to it so that should be in a day or 2. The only one I never heard from is Dotster... figures, they are the reason I went ahead and moved my domains from all different registars to one...

I was worried as the domain seemed to be nowhere.:D
Had to email them one more time but it is through finally.
