Looking for a company/vendor that has the capability to host a database/customer management system with specific needs. The website is for a company that will be designing logos and placing that logo on items like napkins, business cards and matchbooks:

1) The website offers service-based products in packages. The customer would be able to choose a package to purchase and create an account. The order form would need to capture user info and shipping info, as well as survey information.

2) The client can log into his account and check his order status. Also, the client can view images of the proposed logos and approve or deny them via drop-down menus or radio buttons.

I see this backend much like sites like columbiahouse.com, where you login and get personal selections and can accept or deny them, but this is MUCH smaller in scale.

Any help in finding a vendor who can do this kind of work would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Your looking to have the system created? So you need a coder aswell as host?

They may not need a coder, maybe someone that could help them setup their ecommerce site. There are tons of ecommerce ready web hosting packages out there, and one of them might already have the type of cart that would meet your needs.

I can't make any recommendations, because I didn't quite understand what they're looking for.

Profile, order, tracking and logging. Most carts handle the order and logging. Seems like a system with profiled accounts, past orders, etc... extensive database work.

If it is much smaller than columbiahouse.com but have the same functionality, you may want to check out Actinic Business E-Commerce solutions.

Outside that, you may find an open source one and vamp it up or customize one to your needs.

This is definitely a custom system. A normal shopping cart can handle the frontend. But the backend will definitely need some customisation. I can see the need for the creation of a module for Administrators to manage the system, upload images/files to the clients workspace, and such, as well as a client area for all the previewing, montoring of order status as such.

It is broadly broken down to about 3 main sections.

It seems like a fairly simple system to implement.

Unfortunately, I do not have the time or the skills to "vamp up" an open source product. I will have to get someone to customize it for me. I will look into Actinic, but if anyone has any other ideas, please contact me, or post again here.

I believe you can find a bundle load of talent here to help you in your customization. Depending on how big the project is, which it looks pretty big, you may need to set aside a budget to have someone develop a customized solution for you. Let me know if you want to talk directly to me more about it or post on the request pages to get some feedback from other talented WHT members. I think there is quite a bit of people here that will be willing to work with you to give you a final product.

May I add that what you are looking for is not a simple 1-2-3 task, but a programming and database normalization design to optimize entries, updates, modifications, signups, etc... I suggest workflow processes, design, site flow process development, design flow processes, data flow processes, backup procedures and of course, the implementation of the solution itself.

Good luck!
