View Full Version : 2checkout problem?
Last night, somebody paid me through my 2checkout account. I got the confirmation e-mail from 2checkout but when I go to 2checkout admin I can't see that order... The client also received the confirmation e-mail...
Anyone experience the same problem?
Eric Lim 06-21-2003, 03:08 AM No, it shouldn't be. 2checkout confirmation email is slow, prolly due to their heavy database processing. However, once the confirmation email is issued, it will be posted in your account.
Try use the search function to search with only the transaction number, ignore the merchant number.
Strange... when I search for order number on my account...: "No Individual Sales Met Search Criteria". But if I try to fill a complain from the home page (as a buyer) and search for the order number (my account number+the actual order number), the order is displayed... Any suggestion here?
Eric Lim 06-21-2003, 03:21 AM Maybe you should give couple of hours for the updates.
It does usually update instantly... Anyway, I submitted a ticket, let's see what they answer.
It was posted on the forum, and on the Vendor login page.
We have brought the Vendors servers in-house now. The Buyers servers are still in the old datacenter.
Until the morning, the replication between the 2 servers will be spotty.
This effects a few different processes.
1. If you update a product right now, it won't "take" until the replication has completed.
2. Orders showing in your control panel are delayed.
3. The ability to give full or partial refunds on these new orders will be delayed. (Submit a refund/ partial refund request thru the ticket system and we'll do it for you)
Buyers will still be able to complete purchases as normal. That part of the process is not affected.
Thank you Tom for your prompt answer. So, this means that my order is not lost, right?
Thanks again.
EStarr 06-21-2003, 09:49 AM I have this same problem, but I'm also not getting all the emails. I got one for 6 orders, and I can't verify the rest because there have been no changes, even the recurring payments aren't logged. I feel like I'm failing my customers because I can't get their orders filled.
Rob T 06-21-2003, 11:08 AM yeah, i had one customer that signed up twice last night, can't see anything on the admin page but if i fill out the info like a customer, both come right up. Luckily i told him that I would refund if it double charged, which it looks like it did.
Anyway, what good is the $150 i spent on WHM autopilot doing if I can't automatically create accounts! I can't even find them to manually create them! I undertstand they were moving, blah blah blah, but this is people's livelyhood we are talking about here, 2checkout needs to get their $hi7 together and make this as smooth as possible for their merchants.
Rob
Rob T 06-21-2003, 11:10 AM I just turned 2checkout off as an option for payment - i guess people will have to pay via paypal for a day while 2co gets it together.

Our tech team is working to correct the error ASAP and we apologize for this large inconvenience.

forumtalk 06-21-2003, 01:24 PM What is Meaning :)
your large inconvenience. mis my orders :bawling:
Andrew 06-21-2003, 02:20 PM The orders used to post right away to our recurring sales screen, but they don't anymore...and we don't get the mails for hours.
I think that the great move/equipment change involved simply updating that list at certain intervals via a cron job or something, rather than every time we load the page. Which actually makes sense, but not if the cron isn't run often enough.
soccernmore 06-21-2003, 07:12 PM Let me say this....Every company has problems. However....2checkout seems to continually have problems that make life alot harder for their vendors. Personally I am sick and tired fo cutting them slack and we are no longer using them for anything.
Here is a paragraph sent to me in a ticket from Penny:
Order number XXXXX, the cardholder is disputing the reversal, Once this happens the credit card company will not allow me to dispute, this has to be handled directly with the customer.
Customer made a purchase. We delivered the order and have proof of shipping. The customer charges back the order. We provide the proof of shipping which was to the billing address on the card.
2CO informs us that since the chargeback had been reversed, the bank will no allow any further dispute.
Sorry - I don't buy it. We had proof of shipping to the billing address and a signature. What more do we need to have???
This is just one more things on a long list of things that 2CO has done or not done that are not only irritating but bad for business. We are no longer using them and I really hope alot of others decide to jump ship because I really believe that 2CO is a perfect example of how not to deal with customers. Tom, this includes you and your piss-poor forum attitude.
So...another blemish to go on their BBB report and also Visa and MasterCard. Good riddance 2CO.
Toeki 06-21-2003, 07:21 PM soccernmore: What processor did you change to?
surpass 06-21-2003, 07:30 PM No recurring sales have been added to our records since yesterday afternoon. This is really slowing down productivity a bit. I hope they do fix it soon... we waited so long for them to get their new servers fixed up and now this.
Not to mention they keep canceling orders that they deem as fradulent (example, such as someone who ordered while in Korea -who goes to school in Atlanta- who put their school address for their billing address while they are at home in Korea for a few weeks... and this gets labeled as fraud and the poor client has to pay us with PayPal..) and then 2CO doesn't even catch the real fraud orders in time, I do!
I guess it could be worse. :) Not switching companies yet.
Esr Tek 06-21-2003, 08:18 PM 2co's fraud detection does leave allot to be desired.
Either legit orders get flagged and the fraud ones, they don't even bother to send anything. :(
I had a problem with being charged for refunds that where never sent. So not only did I NOT make those amounts, I had to pay them back :( Took 2+ weeks of no answers and I opened a second. Which was dealt with much faster.
However I was only refunded 1 of 2, but oh well.
However, Between those 2 weeks I had it with their lousy customer service and stopped using them also.
Perfecthost 06-21-2003, 09:38 PM Some orders came through 2checkout and I did not know. The only reason I know now is that the Daily Report showed them. However, I have no way of contacting these new orders, as I don't have an email address.
I looked through the 2checkout forums and did not see much about this....except "We're working on it! Don't bother us!"
It seems -- Sending in a bunch of support tickets, or emailing moderators, or trying to contact Customer Support will not change the process.
Out of this all, the "Don't bother us!" attitude is the worst part.
bagfull 06-22-2003, 01:25 AM I had some worst experience with 2checkout... lets leave the problems aside, they should at the least reply to emails... I get reply to my support email 1 in 5 and that too after 3-4 days..
Useless service... Better pay a bit more and go to worldpay or some better providers..
Toeki 06-22-2003, 01:29 AM bagfull: have you tried out Paysystems?
coight 06-22-2003, 01:29 AM Same here, 2checkout should die. We have 6 orders that have been made and 0 have come up on the recurring screen.
inteltechs 06-22-2003, 01:31 AM same here. This is really annoying.
Toeki 06-22-2003, 01:33 AM 2Checkout that bad?
bagfull 06-22-2003, 01:53 AM I have lately visites paysystems, their fee is same as 2checkout... but don't feel like tryiing new ones.. (or the ones I have not heard about much)
ForumsAddict 06-22-2003, 07:51 AM same here :(
coight 06-22-2003, 08:47 AM Well time to finally change from 2checkout for good and put our solidinternet brand under worldpay.
MarcD 06-22-2003, 10:01 AM Ok I see what you guys are talking about Tiffany is having a fit because of this she though she lost her mind. Lol Explained the problem to her.
It is not sending emails though for our sales, doesnt even show up anywhere.
This is deff. not good at all
boyscout 06-22-2003, 10:12 AM Already switched from 2c, after being with them for 8 months or so! Couldnt be happier with the switch!
Highly recommend paysystems, except for one lacking feature that 2c had, custom payment options, where you dont need to have a fixed price for every product, and customers can send you a $ amount without it being associated with a product.
With all the headaches we've had with 2c, i definetely wont miss em :)
One thing i cant seem to understand, is if you're growing to quick to handle the support, etc.. then why dont they just "suspend accepting new orders" for a while?
Ive seen another company do that, and yeah you may lose a few new signups here and there, but in the long term, how many customers have they lost with posts like this one?
ForumsAddict 06-22-2003, 12:12 PM Yep, it is not even sending the sales receipts which is not acceptable :(
PositiveHost 06-22-2003, 12:17 PM Tom,
When do you think this problem will be over?
surpass 06-22-2003, 12:24 PM Yes.. when will it be over.
The last client added to our records was on the 20th in the afternoon. No new clients have been added since.
submenu 06-22-2003, 12:46 PM This is completely unacceptable. The least they could do is email their customers and let them know that there is a problem.
I guess its time to get a real merchant account.
Andrew 06-22-2003, 01:24 PM Tom, you gotta fix this and fix it now. Orders from 2 days ago still aren't showing up. I know they're good too, I've run the numbers thru the system...

We have a real merchant account, but hate doing recurring sales by hand. Recurring billing (charging) was the reason we chose to use 2checkout.
surpass 06-22-2003, 02:52 PM Seems to be fixed now :D
Not sure if all sales are there, need to check. However, things are now looking up.

There are plenty of billing software packages that take care of that for you :)

Yep. Orders are several days old and have not been contacted because I can't see an email address.....
soccernmore 06-22-2003, 08:53 PM We all seem to love and hate 2co at the same time
Speak for yourself. There is no love between 2CO and us. I can understand an occasional problem or mix-up but with 2CO it seems to be one thing after another. They have actually said to me that if we don't didn't like them, why were we using them?
Every single day when the thought of 2CO wanders into my brain, it's always coupled with the wish that they are run out of business by the local attorney general for pissing off way to many customers.
Host Ultra 06-22-2003, 10:15 PM I have 5 orders over the last 3 days that i can see in the admin area, when i click them I get a blank page!
No email with those order numbers either.
2Grumpy 06-23-2003, 09:29 AM This is starting to get really aggravating, now a guy who signed up on Friday is wanting a refund because he did not like the Ensim control panel and I cannot issue the refund or in any way pull up his order at all, other than the entry I see in the Recurring Sales screen.
I am NOT eating a chargeback over this crap.
ForumsAddict 06-23-2003, 09:52 AM Its Monday here now :(.....I hope they fix this soon...
Netrilli 06-23-2003, 10:10 AM Mine is still acting up.
Perfecthost 06-23-2003, 10:30 AM I still only see a blank page when trying to pull up the details of the orders.
Andrew 06-23-2003, 10:38 AM and now our favorite message:

2Grumpy 06-23-2003, 04:08 PM Well I can open orders now at least, when the database lets me but no emails so far.
Andrew 06-23-2003, 04:09 PM I got an email a few minutes ago from Friday, but that doesn't cover the weekend or the sales from today...it's kind of confusing trying to verify everything with them pulling this crap.
What a mess...
2Grumpy 06-23-2003, 04:11 PM I spoke too soon, back to blank pages again.
Lots I'd like to say but it wouldn't do any good, just leave it at "this is aggravating"
Moriarty 06-23-2003, 07:05 PM This is intolerable. I'm getting angry emails from people who placed orders over the weekend (some as long ago as friday) asking me why the hell I haven't created their accounts. According to 2checkout.com they don't exist. This makes me look very bad even though its not my fault. I don't understand why 2checkout can't just get it together and provide the service we all pay them for. What was that $49 setup fee for? For the privelige of getting shafted by them?
Moriarty 06-23-2003, 07:17 PM Sigh :(

Incompetency and extremely poor planning would be a good place to start.
Really Tom - Shouldn't all of these sorts of things been taken care of before 2checkout went into business?! I can't even get into our Admin panel and if I wanted to send a request for payment or make a product, guess what, it's not possible! Gee, that's a worthwhile service isn't it?
Andrew 06-23-2003, 09:14 PM Ridiculous! Still broken!! After 3 days!
ForumsAddict 06-23-2003, 10:42 PM It seems to be fixed now...
Andrew 06-24-2003, 12:14 AM nope, still blank page from here. For most of today's sales anyway...ones from early this morning are good.
boyscout 06-24-2003, 05:34 AM Switch people, switch!
Paysystems ROCKS! And no, im not a paysystems sales person.. we switched and couldnt be happier.. not a single integration issue, not a single support issue, they released funds when they said they would.. (they release every week, not 14 days), ive been able to SPEAK with my personal customer rep 5 times, being put on hold only twice and then being called back... ive received no more than 24 hour replies to any and all emails ive sent through.. the admin system ROCKS, better reporting, better fraud handling, better reporting, better stats, has a COUPON code feature that allows you to give coupons for % discounts or fixed price discounts.. we pay less fees now than 2c...
And more importantly, ive never ever seen a thread on ANY forum with anything negative about paysystems.. or most others for that matter.. ive heard WorldPay also rocks!
2c on the other hand, all ive seen is negative posts like this one! Whats wrong with everyone? Why are we all sticking to something that doesnt work? Laziness maybe?
Esr Tek 06-24-2003, 09:12 AM Still awaiting the 16th's payment and have nothin showin on order detail page.
I need to refund some through 2co as I am re-processing them w paysystems :(
I can't wait to se how many refunds they try to double charge me for again :(
SimonMc 06-24-2003, 03:44 PM They are a bit busy banning people from the forums at the moment. As soon as they get a few more nasty customers banned...they will get the servers into the new DC. Then...once the new servers are in the DC...Tom will format each one with Dos 6.22 to install 2checkout V0.02 Once that is all up and running...Tom will be beta testing the new version on all existing customers.
He assures me it will go as smoothly as previous upgrades...so nothing to worry about there then.
Hold onto your hats....this is going to be the ride of your life!
Simon
Andrew 06-25-2003, 12:24 PM Are new sales posting yet? The ones from the weekend are okay now, but new ones coming in aren't showing up. What are you guys seeing?
Host Ultra 06-25-2003, 12:26 PM I got a single sale last night (not recurring) it showed up instantly.
Andrew 06-25-2003, 12:38 PM hmm...okay...anyone gotten any recurring sales? That's mostly what we do.
I just switched to Authorize.NET, my reseller is http://www.modernauthorize.com
It took them 2 days to setup an account
Andrew 06-25-2003, 12:44 PM Great, maybe we can ask them if our orders are good or not...Does anyone here have any real experience with signups on 2co today and yesterday? I'd like to avoid asking the customers. It makes us look stupid.

Has anyone had any recurring sales in the past 48 hours on 2co. If so, did any of them post to the list in the admin area. If so, how long did it take to happen?
Thanks. :)
Sorry Andrew, I had one recurring sale last night. It appeared in admin area in about 30 min.
Mekhu 06-25-2003, 01:34 PM Drew,
I had a recurring sale about 13 minutes ago and still waiting for it to show in the "recurring sales" section. Not even sure if the emails are going out to the clients from 2CO (reciept), but I doubt it.
Timing to see how long it takes to show.
