Every spam I get I do a traceroute and send email to all the people up the biggest backbone provider. I figure, soon or later, they will get tired of all the email I sent them and do something about it.

Know what the greatest thing is?????

I'm filling their mailboxes up with legit spam complaints so there's nothing they can do about it.

yeah good idea
I figure the ones that have been covered good with fake headers etc.. are hard to do but suposed companies that have webistes that have no way of contacting
that is a great idea
I'll put ya on my spam forward list so you can do it for me
hehehehe
totally joking ;)
yeah bad joke but I like your style of tracert
(hope ya took that well???)

arghhhh when I was running a big aviation site it sucked as I got about 100 junk emails through just that one address was not fun to sort through.

I wish I had time to chase up all the spam I get - I give up

Now I just filter everything - works for me. :D

Aloha
the other thing I do to avoid it is set it up to reject certain email address's etc...
I try to sort it but it never seems to stop

At the risk of sounding negative,

I believe that spam is here to stay and will be almost impossible to irradicate. The only thing we can do is try and kill it from the server before it gets to our inboxes.

Each time I get a new type of spam I just create an extra rule in OE.
