Thanks Artashes 06-19-2003, 10:05 PM You mean an advertising management system you'd like to install on your site or use a remotely controlled script? anlene 06-19-2003, 10:24 PM are you kidding? if you aren't meant what Artashes had mentioned and is just a banner rotating stuff, you can achieve this for just a few lines of code. (BTW: PHP) Sticks 06-19-2003, 10:28 PM phpLedAds is what i use 'n like. Senthu@BM 06-19-2003, 10:43 PM I will recommend u PhPAdsNEW MarvelHost 06-19-2003, 11:41 PM phpadsnew is what i installed....but didnt understand how it all worked. could someone explain all of the zone stuff and all those things? Thanks Senthu@BM 06-19-2003, 11:58 PM Ok ..u may contact me through MSN or AIM Artashes 06-20-2003, 08:31 AM Jordan, I've tried nearly 10 scripts I liked most and here are my final recommendations: FREE programs: phpAdsNew PAID programs: AdCycle.com (fastclick advertising network environment) REMOTELY USED (Free and Paid): ValueAd.com AdButler.com Ad-Rotator.com All very easy to use. In any of those programs - all you do is setup a ZONE first, like the top 468x60 banner spot, get an HTML code of it and isert into your web sites pages. Then, you start creating ad campaigns. For example, an WHT campaign with 2 banners in it. When you create banners - just point them at the ZONE created and they will rotate in that spot. Hope this helps, fishfreek 06-20-2003, 10:23 PM phpadsnew has got to be one of the best rotation scripts out there in my book. Of couse i have not used anything else but I did look at a fair number before I installed phpadsnew. RDX1 06-20-2003, 11:54 PM I like phpads, phpadsnew is too hard :p fishfreek 06-21-2003, 09:29 AM I dont feel its to hard. It is comiplex but not to hard once you play with it some. You have advertisers, campains and then zones. Think of it like this. Your zone is the domain you want the banners to rotate on. Your campain is all of the banners you want to rotate in a given spot. For example on this site there is a banner at the top and one at the bottom. Those would be different campains. Then you have your advertisers that you assing to a given campain. So your advertisers you assign to a campain and then you assign a campain to a zone. Then you generate the code to place that zone within your website. The fact that it runs a script hourly to recalculate the display % is just cool. I have setup various sponsorship rates based upon different amounts of impressoins monthly. Since phpadsnew calculates the number of impressions per day and keeps tabs on how many impressions per how have occured someone buying 50,000 impressions should get approx 1667 impressions per day. So if there is a slow period of the day then maybe the 69 impressions that was to show for that hour did not get done. So automaticly the script recalculates a higher probility that the banner will get displayed the following hour till the baner impression count has caught up. The ability to do geotargeting is just cool. I dont use that feature but the ability to show only UK ads to visitors from the UK is just way cool in my book. I plan on assigning an account to each of my advertisers so they can login to phpadsnew and get real time stats as to how their given banners are doing. All this in a free script. dmaven 06-21-2003, 01:41 PM I have used AdButler.com in the past with good results |
