View Full Version : Get rid of VBulletin
ENSupport 06-19-2003, 01:32 PM Right now its pretty heavy load. I cant post in many threads now simple getting 404 because of high load. Cookie get corrupted almost everytime (looks like im not logged in when visiting front page but i am). I dont know are you guys planning to upgrade to 3.0? Iam i only one having this issues with VB?
WebFX 06-19-2003, 01:43 PM Hi,
I haven't had any problems lately. The board is usually under heavy loads apart from in the early hours of dawn.
I like vBulletin, works alright and does the job. I wouldn't like to be the one to convert it all! :P
Just a quick note, it says in your sig that you have invested $20.000 into EENET E2. I think you should change that period into a comma because that reads that you have invested twenty dollars. :)
Lesli 06-19-2003, 01:48 PM I haven't had any problems lately. In fact, in just the last few days the "View New Posts" feature has started working properly for me within the last week and a half, or thereabouts.
WebFX 06-19-2003, 01:50 PM Search is good now too, it's quicker and easier to use (I couldn't remember half the operator words).
Editing your post still takes ages to load though.
ENSupport 06-19-2003, 01:54 PM How come im having problems try to reply to burst net thread in ded forum
platinum 06-19-2003, 01:57 PM Not too bad for me, a bit more laggy than I'd like, but hey can't complain with close to 1000 people online all the time :)
Editing posts is slower because mySQL is great at quick and dirty SELECTS, etc, but has a bit of a harder time searching for a specific post to edit.
vBulletin isn't the problem BTW, it's mySQL, an oracle backend would be better ($$$) :D

It could be a broken thread - which occassionally happens - in which case you should report it so we can fix it...
As for corrupt cookies - check your IE security settings, and delete your WHT cookies manually.
Slow loads? It's gotten better since Webdev's maintence work...

Yup, the server loads are certainly down since WebDev did his magic :D
Server Load Averages 0.16, 0.28, 0.27 495 users online (340 members & 155 guests).

SolidJoe 06-19-2003, 02:16 PM I'm also having problems replying to threads and reporting posts to moderators. Specifically, I can't reply to this thread: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=156207 - just times out.
SoftWareRevue 06-19-2003, 02:23 PM Try the thread now.
ENSupport 06-19-2003, 02:42 PM Burst thread is still non functional..
ENSupport 06-19-2003, 03:04 PM I made another burst.net thread... and it doesnt work anymore (like 2 minutes) ... ehhhh ?
JWise 06-19-2003, 08:26 PM lol @ get rid of vBulletin
I couldnt see WHT on another board.. It would just spoil the fun
Knogle 06-19-2003, 11:21 PM I am on WHT at least 14 hours a day, with at least 9-10hours of ACTIVE browsing. Never experienced any problem with the boards. The only time i did experience tons of sluggishness was because of a local routing issue.
SpecPC 06-20-2003, 01:59 AM NO problems here with the VB.... loads pretty fast and never and 404 or the like.
aventuregrp 06-20-2003, 02:18 AM Ditto
Mythril 06-20-2003, 02:36 AM I never have any problems either, WHT keep up the good work. :)
anon-e-mouse 06-20-2003, 02:43 AM We won't be getting rid of vBulletin. If you come across a "broken" thread (times out when you try to reply), send a trouble report and it will be fixed.
