Can someone recommend a free service that monitors whether your website is up or down and notifies you with an email if it's down?

There is plenty of tools to monitor your site out there. Usually they are free but they have also a paid version which has more features.

I use the qwkmon paid service for my servers. They are great for what I need. When a box is unreachagble/down I get a call on my cell phone which is on my hip 24/7.
