We are currently selling www.SigUp.com.

SigUp has been, over a period of 4-5 months, a site based on the offering of free image hosting. Growing from a small server, to a dedicated server, all through use of advertising sale, we have gained many loyal members. We had approx. 3000 signed up on our (optional) forums and in our re-installed ones we are back at 2,300. Daily traffic to the server was approx. 3,000-4,000 uniques/day. However, our server has been unable to support the bandwidth needed and we did not have the extra capital to start with servers big enough to support the venture.

We are looking to sell the domain to anyone that would like to forward our hits to their image hosting site, or if anyone has a server of their own we would give you our scripts, members, and design (We have a newly-designed layout, at www.sigup.com/new/ also). I should note, however, that a strong dedicated server with a large amount of bandwidth would be needed to support this if you were to start from scratch.

We're taking offers but are also going to do an auction format to give an open way to see the trend of offers.

We'll start with an opening bid of $50 and go with bid increments of $20.

Any questions, please post here, email or PM me.

joel
(sigup.com)

Current bid : $400 (skeez)

To be 100% Clear - The site design and database (w/ members, etc.) is also part of what's for sale here. (joel)

For 5 months left I wouldn't pay $50 for a domain....then again I wouldn't pay that much for an entire year.

I believe you're failing to understand the idea here.. beyond just the domain itself, its the hits and patronage that would go with that domain/design.

If you post some traffic stats and your daily / monthly bandwidth useage I'd bid on this.

lol skeez, that is quite possibly the cheesiest thing i've ever read on this board..... If you had "that big" of financial backing, you wouldn't be bothering with a site like that.... (no offence to the site)....

Thats just the funniest thing i've read in a long time.

Unfortunately, at the moment I dont have any actual webalizer stats to show.

I can give you a basic rundown, as far as bandwidth, through the month of may, we went from the beginning of around 7 GB/day, to the end of may, with about 30 GB/day and growing.

As far as traffic, like I said we had about 3000-4000 uniques a day with around 10,000 page hits/day.

Skeez : thank you for the offer, for right now I'm going to wait a little while longer to take some more.

Ryan32, I believe that with the right handling and management, SigUp could become very big. I've probably overcharged hundreds of people, so its time to give back to the community in a sense.

Uhm, I do have a question. What do you plan to do with all those who have bought that premium plan of yours, do you plan on refunding them at all? Or one day are they just going to go to the site and relize the sites gone as well as their money they put into it?

(Edit - I ask because the simple fact, if your planning on screwing all of them over, Ill put up the $50.00 easily and put the site on a dedicated server just so they all dont screwed our of what they thought was going to be their place to host pics)

Mallclerks, if I buy the domain then I will make every attempt to keep everything the same, and I will not go and charge premium members again and they will be able to continue using the premium service, with a few minor improvements here and there of course.
The only thing that stands to change will be perhaps an extra advert in the footer. Other than that IF I buy the domain your accounts will all be safe.

It is an auction, just that I prefer to keep my bids private. Lets just say they're about halfway through triple figures.

So let me get this right.... "half way through triple figures...." The bid is at 50 dollars, and you privately went and bid 500 for it?

Lets just say I want to ensure that SigUp gets better, as do my backers. We don't want it to fall into some money-hungry person....which is why the current webmaster of SigUP will remain as webmaster if we take it over, at least whilst we get things running up to speed again.

Thread starter hasn't said bid is any more than $50, so I'd assume that's what it's at (aside from the obvious bullfrog going on in this thread). This is why auctions don't work on forums.

Since the server we are using is not included here, our current customers would have their terms finished up on the server under a different domain name.

Thanks,
joel

Joel, I would be more than happy to provide your existing customers with the same hosting that you provided them

Thanks for accepting my offer :) I'm sure we can work together to make SigUp into something everyone can be proud of.

Then you should say that you're going to sell the site, not the domain; it got me confused.
