50gb b/w on a 25mb account...WAOH
On a side note, I fully recommend 5bucksamonth, although my site isn't completely functional yet (I've been buzy and lazy, not a good mix :D ) the support has been great.
If the plan fits your requirements it's definatley worth it.
creepcolony 07-17-2001, 07:34 PM what do you mean the guy got "upgraded"?
so if my site uses less than 50gig i am ok?
So then, users really don't get "UNLIMITED " bandwidth. Don't call it unlimited if it's not.
If you say it's unlimited, I'd expect to be able to use an entire OC48 without being charged one cent more!
aaent 07-17-2001, 10:28 PM Obviously there is no true "unlimited bandwidth" But on our current virtual servers any client using that much bandwidth will put a strain on the server before our bandwidth is reached. If that situation occurs we will ask the client to upgrade to a dedicated server where we do have bandwidth limits.
As most people know over 95% of sites use very minimal bandwidth and if a few clients use allot, it really does balance out.
As our servers would be strained before the maximum allowed bandwidth was used the TOS does not need to include bandwidth.
Why punish the little guys who can't afford huge bandwidth bills, the bandwidth on the servers is shared so it is a total for the server not the individual. If we gave say 10 gig's to every customer we would be out of our allotment much sooner.
With Sphera Hosting Director there is also a built in Move VDS function which also helps greatly as we can move any account from one server to another, with a click of a button.
creepcolony 07-17-2001, 10:47 PM can i host a 25gig bandwidth site with you?
grafikat 09-14-2001, 07:22 PM I tried 5bucksamonth.com and had a terrible experience with them. Never received tech support after several requests (frontpage extensions never worked correctly). And after posting a request for help on the forum, the flood gates opened with scads of other folks complaining about problems. Their solution? Remove the Forum...which is Still not up... I'd run screaming! For that price, I like Pair, affordablehost and hostyard. My personal favorite is westhost.com for the under $9.00 bracket.
aaent 09-14-2001, 07:58 PM grafikat;
May I ask what forum you are refering too? There has never been one on the 5bucksamonth.com web site and we have never been associated with a forum?
How long ago did you host with 5bucksamonth.com?

1. Then why offer it?
2. No, it isn't "obvious" - which is why so many customers end up getting royally SCREWED by companies offering "unlimited".

marksy 09-15-2001, 03:26 PM What the hell is "Legendary" Technical support? Did someone once upon a time write some magnificent story about your tech support? Does the tech support border between possibly true or not? I'm not slamming your company, but man that mkes me laugh.
On the unlimited note, you just admitted you can't offer unlimited yet advertise it - that's lying and self-admitted false advertising in my book.

How can you have "unlimited bandwidth" when you also speak of "maximum allowed bandwidth"?
Do you have unlimited bandwidth, or do you have a maximum?
Chicken 09-15-2001, 04:13 PM For heaven's sake, just list 20 gigs and if people go over their 20, just don't bill them. Would avoid all of these threads...
