I am in the process of transfering some domain names from stargate to goddaddy. One of those names has 4 nameserver attached to it (ns1,ns2,ns3,ns4).
will the nameservers be lost upon transfer and I would have to re-create them or wil they be kept ?

Anytime, anywhere, you Register a Domain name, you must always include the Nameservers. You do not have to make any changes with your current Hosting account, although, you do have to wait 24 - 72 hrs for propagation.
I understand that part. My question is in regards to the nameservers that are associated with each domain:
let's say I have mydomain.com and I have crated ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com with my registrar...
Once I transfer the domain, do I have to recreate the ns1 and ns2 or not?

One does not 'create' Nameservers with a Registrar. By definition, a Registrar is where one 'registers' information. So when a Domain name is registered, the Nameservers must be registered as well.
If your Nameservers have not changed, then register the same information as you did before.
