Is hostnet1 an actual accredited registrar? If not try contacting their domain provider to see if you can update your name servers. (just a thought - I'm unsure as to how feasible it may be).

Typically, you cannot transfer the domain until 60 days have passed since the domain has been registered.

Kind Regards.

Hello,

Check here:

http://www.internic.net/whois.html

This will tell you who the actual registrar for "domain [.com]" is. We can't tell you any more information unless we get the actual domain name. You'll need to contact that registrar.

Just from the information that we have here, we can tell that hostnet1.com was registered through register.com, but that may or may not mean anything:
Domain Name: HOSTNET1.COM
Registrar: REGISTER.COM, INC.
Whois Server: whois.register.com
Referral URL: http://www.register.com

Best Regards,

I dont think hostnet1.com is the domain he is tryingt to edit I think that is the site that they purchased the domain from.

What you need to do is do a whois on the domain you purchased and make sure that you are listed as the main registrant of the domain and if you are just put in for a transfer somewhere (godady or enom are cheap) and make sure you have access to the email listed on the domain to verify the transfer and it is usually done in a few days and you will be able to edit all of your DNS settings youself.

If you are not listed as the main account registrant then you are basically stuck waiting for them to answer you and hopefully they will do so.

Oh yeah, I know that. I was just thinking that if they used register.com as their own registrar, perhaps they have a reseller account with them as well..

Just a guess. We use opensrs for ours, but our main domain was a godaddy domain (just haven't had the time to transfer it yet :) )
