View Full Version : Dotster WHOIS Broken - Alternate?

I'm trying to get an SSL certificate from Thawte for a domain name I own that is registered with Dotster, but it looks like Dotster's WHOIS database is broken and has been for a while (Thawte is trying to verify that I own the domain name). If I use the WHOIS on their site and enter my domain name, it comes back with the results page, but all the data is missing. If I use a different WHOIS (like the one at http://www.networksolutions.com/cgi-bin/whois/whois), it just sits there and does nothing.

Does anyone know of a WHOIS that perhaps uses cached information so I can look up the info for a Dotster-registered domain name? The only thing I found that works is the WHOIS at http://www.internic.net, but that only gives name server data and doesn't show who owns the domain name.

Thanks Orpheus but right now both of those are doing the same thing as NSI... just sitting there but not displaying results (I assume trying to access the Dotster WHOIS database and it's not working).

I always use www.register.com for whois, but I never register with them. :D
