As in a fan site or mod related to any game PC based, no, the banners load up once, maybe annimated though.

exactly how much bandwidth is "common sense"?

I don't have a gaming site, but I have a short film site, a lot of the same kind of people are into both, most of the young film makers I know are into gaming, and well I don't have a clue what they are talking about. but I would be willing to place your banners on the pages that are not playing the films, as the banners would slow the films down. let me know, when my site is up and running i had a lot of traffic.
