It's been some time since eBay bought over PayPal.

I was wondering if anyone still experiences problems regarding chargebacks and frozen accounts that were so prevalent before.

Is there any noticeable improvement under the eBay management?

I use PayPal and have no problems, had it for 2 years now, never had any of the problems you are describing.

I have both paypal and paysystems options but I prefer to promote Paypal, the service is good the payments prompt and its simple to use.

Highly recommend

Well I've used PayPal over two years as well.

I think they are worse.

They are definitly not any good for web hosts to accept payments though.

Lest we forget the last little thingy I got from themThis transaction was reversed for the following reason(s):

- products were virtual: web hosting.

ditto.. though I should say it's never been a large part of our business. I mainly use PayPal for one-off development projects through known customers.

Good, fast service, that pays on time once funds are withdrawn.

Thanks for the reviews. That bit about reversed transaction because the product was virtual is really weird.

paypal takes too much money from each transaction

I liked them better when they weren't owned by ebay - BUT they do have some nice features they probably wouldn't have right now had ebay not purchased them

My only beef iwht the company is their refund/chargeback policies -but i think the credit card companies also play a role in this....someone is lagging behind and it's not good....

Only way to send cheaper (without a merchant account) is by check. Paypal is not that bad on fees. Give Ebay another 2 to 10 months and I'm sure the paypal fees will go out the roof... to match the Ebay fees.

Paypal is getting worse and worse.... I've had 2 false charbacks in the last 3 months, each time they froze my account for OVER a month, then after like 6 weeks of being frozen.... They rule AGAINST ME!!! AFTER...... and get this, it's the best part, AFTER, I sent them a tracking number that shows the product was recieved.....

Paypal are criminals, and they should be sued repeatedly for what they do and how they steal peoples money.

And to those of you who only have good thigns to say about them, just way, they will bend you over just the same... it's only a matter of time.

I would say paypal is GREAT. But here are a few things that needs to be pondered on while using PAYPAL :

1. the user needs to leave your web site to complete the transaction. This can be seen as unprofessional and also confusing to the user.
2. asking the user to give personal information to an organization they may not be familiar with.
3. entire order data is not in your database unless you ask for it twice.
4. any complaint about PayPal becomes a complaint against you.
5. you do not have the flexibility that you may need for things like shipping charges, design, reporting and handling returns.

However, I prefer PAYPAL :-)

1. Paysystems, 2checkout, worldpay, they all require you to
connect to their gateway to process payments. Paypal
as most provide a link back to your site once processing is
complete.

2. It is more likely they will be familiar with paypal or nochex than
paysystems, 2 checkout or worldpay.

3. Depends on the billing system you use if any, we use
clientexec which takes all the information from the customer,
it does need to be entered twice.

4. such is life, and again is the same for all payment processors.

5. A good billing system again will handle this.

Paypal is not perfect, we use it purely due to customer request, a lot of them feel more secure using it than paysystems.

I have never used nochex so cant comment on them as an alternative similiar to paypal, are they any better??

2.9% and 30 cents is hardly a lot considering 2checkout takes more than 5% and Paysytems take 3.5% + $1 or 5% and 40 cents (something like that)

If you don't have a merchant account paypal is very attractive.
