Where do I begin ....

1U, 64 bit processor. loads of room for RAM and big, fast disks .... for £900 !!

We've got a Sun Netra with in Scotland and the performance is amazing. I'm a Linux user and it took a while to get used to Solaris 8 but our Server now feels like Red Hat with Bash and Qmail installed.

We're spending £125 a month with our host and only coughed up £900 on the hardware ! It's running a massive MySQl database, tens of thousands of outgoing mails a month, our website, SSL, all our staff incoming mail and the load is sitting at 0.01 !! Worth a look at http://below0.net - their customer service is the best in the UK and you guessed it the name Below Zero ... zero downtime is what they offer !

They are awesome servers @ an awesome price! I saw a price/feature comparison in a magazine last month and I could not believe my eyes.

Very nice :)

Yeah the X1 was fine for us - our ISP got us that discount too ! The Netras are Sun's answer to the RAQ Cobalt range and for the 1U size you can squeeze a lot of hardware inside them to boost performance past most pentiums !

Well the netra range (t1) was out before sun aquired cobalt - Sun are working on a new range of appliance servers.

Netra's are great little machines only let down by the IO on the slow eide disks.

And they are sleek :)
