i got a domain at GKG and still have 3 years to expire. when i transfer it to another registrar and get another year extension, is that my domain will expire after 4 years ? or the new registrar will ignore the extension of 3 years in the previous registrar ?

Should add a year to whatever your current expire date is.

when a domain transfer to another registrar ,it should add one year fee to the new registrar, so the domain will be expired after 4 yr. After the transfering finished , the WHOIS of the domain will state anything new, you can check it .

Itīs common that the new registrar adds a year to the current expiration date, but if you want to be sure should you try to contact the new registrar.

They cannot remove anytime existing on the domains life, they will just add a further year so your domain will expire in 4 years time.

Hi old boy :) Corwin's correct: they'll add a year ON TOP OF your current registration.
