I would ask that the mods remove this. Waste of time. Reads just like (insert your favorite MLM or most recent spam crap here).

The report seems founded on many false premises and, as such, is probably a waste of time to read. It sugggests the rest of the report is equally flawed. The problem with many of the failed doc coms is not a failure to create customer loyalty or investing too much on their web site, it was a lack of a business plan and a way to make money, even if eventually.

Investors got caught up in the newness of dot coms and invested with nop foundation for doing so other than others were doing the same. This is identical to the great tulip fiasco in years past.

The U.S. new show, 60 minutes, covered the subject quite well months ago. They had several dot com executives, many of them no longer millionares. One had an online accounting firm that was valued at one point at about a billion dollars. After the fall, it was devalued at $850,000.

The lessons to be learned are the same as have been true for years. Don't invest in smoke and mirrors. If you do, invest modestly and get out quick. If you plan on having an online business, have a business plan. That means a way of eventually turning a profit (something even Amazon and Yahoo have yet to do). It''s not enough to just be online.

Al the predicitions of new economy have evaporated, as I knew they would. It's the same old economy extended into new areas. It took a bit of time for reason and sanity to catch up, though they always do.

Not without a way of making money. You overlook the fact that your report is founded on false premises. Reading a book on business and business economics would be a greater and more productive expenditure of time.

60 Minutes is hardly a stupid show.

Don't presume to tell me what to do, fella. Read closely: I said it reads like MLM or spam. I did not say it was MLM or spam, although if it bounced into my mailbox I would report it as such.

Your premise is weak and your conclusions shoddy. Go back to the drawing board. Or read up on basic economics, as your time would be better served doing that than issuing poorly worded, poorly typed edicts about how the rest of the world should run their business based on your say so.
