Hi people,

I know I don't post too much but I need some advise, and the others in my company are just as upset as I am.

I have lost over 200 dollars in the last 2 days from reversed payments. Does this happen all the time ? Anyone have it happen to them? Anyone ever win such a reversal? The two that have hit me recently were calimed to be fraud, One I think might be true the other I sold personaly and hes doing this to simply get his money back after being told about the Spam bot policy with shells, and having his account killed for running one. Now Im not a cold man, even though I didn't have to I offered 50% money back, because I didnt want to be a prick. Has anyone ever had these issues? Fake payments and lots of reversals? I know I will get some and I have had a few over the years but never 2 in as many days.

Just wanted to let off some steam and get some feedback.

Thanks

-Steve

Indeed.

We had a dispute filed against us for booting a spammer. He then tried to get his money back. We stuck to our policy and refused to refund anything.

We called PayPal, and pointed them to our TOS.

14 days went by, and we won the dispute.

Seems to be something common going on with them.

They may be off the list to use for hosting.

Read the forum. It is happening more now.

I've won the only two I've had to dispute. All you have to do is show them everything you have on the person, and everything associated with the transaction such as links to TOS, a post, emails, etc. Belive it or not they are on your side. They would much rather satisfy your interest in the situation if you do alot of business with them. Now it did come down to verifying where the money came from on one but as long as its legit its yours if you win.

Maybe that's the way it USED to be. But, when they deny us because, "the product was vitual: web hosting" that's the reason. Because it is web hosting.

Actually, I had a dispute recently, and after 5 days I had the money back. It was over a website design, but it's virtual as well.

So, you were the buyer?

is it easier to win a chargeback with paysystems than paypal?

I don't think you can win with either. But, PayPal says you'll lose because the product is Web Hosting.

how about if you have your own merchant account?

you still can't win?

Allot prolly depends on how they paid to. If the buyer paid from thier bank account it really is up to paypal whether they get thier money back. But if they paid via credit card paypal would have to be stupid not to refund thier money because 99.9% of the time the credit card company will do a chargeback and the client will get thier maoney back and paypal will also be charged fees for recieving the chargeback. I believe that has allot to do with the inconsistancies we have seen with refunds by paypal.

Is this from personal Experience, or people just talking :crap: on WHT? I've found that VISA at least is a hell of a lot more responsible then that. TD Visa will specifically NOT allow you to dispute ebay auctions or anything of the nature paid by PayPal, because they recognize you're merely attacking a third party, not the person who ripped you off, I'd assume most banks are likewise inclined and not too ignorant on the subject.
