There had been some speculation in another ADEHost thread regarding someone's fear of ADEHost "up and running off on us", implying a Cyberwingsesque disappearing act was coming forth with everyone's money. Mike stated in a thread that he would give refunds to those who asked and would be cancelling all 2CO recurring billings as a sign of his action and intentions.
This evening we recieved a 2CO notice that our recurring order with ADEHost had been cancelled. It would appear that so far, Mike is doing as he stated he was going to do.
We never requested a cancel, because we're still up and running, that simple. (We host our ASP site at ADE, but all mail/nameservers/etc are our own linux boxen, so the mail/nameserver outtage didn't affect our site... I guess we just got lucky as to the cascade of other problems they had this week).
I know it doesn't make the situation any easier for those people who've been down and had to move, and I know it doesn't make the entire situation any easier for Mike, but I just wanted to let everyone know, from what we've seen thus far, Mike is doing what he said he would do, and hopefully he'll be able to get everything back up and running as soon as possible....
Disclaimer: Yes, I represent a hosting company, yes, we also have an account with ADE for our own site. (One ASP coded site does not a dedicated Windows Box Justify!) This is not a case of one host trying to toot anothers horn in a public forum, nor is it a case of Mike being a friend and me trying to help him out.. I've talked to the man once when we setup the account, aside from that I know him only as a provider of some Windows space at a decent rate.... I just appreciate what he's done for us so far, and hope everything works out on his end.
