Hi,

Has anyone used this company before? They seem to offer pretty good packages.

Any help would be appreciated.

:D

They are a reseller for donhosts by the looks of it.

It seems that they are a new company as their domain was only regestered on the 8 april 2001.

All I would say is beware of bargains but you never know they may be fine.

Its up to you !!

I wonder how much they paid to advertise in the net mag ?

Well seeing as its a donhost reseller that will be another one in a few months that they will terminate there account for using excessive bandwidth.

When will people realise that if they only give you 50Gb and if you go over they terminate as they have been doing for using excessive bandwidth.

And with the price of adverts in .NET god knows how they are making money simple maths says:

£25 Per year 1G bandwidth per month (Approx £2 per month x 50 Accounts at 1G = £100 per month.

Cost of Donhost reseller account £36 per month WOW £64 profit per month. Well they will be in business a long time making that sort of profit LOL won't they. Especially as the .net adverts are cheap :) LOL.

The business model just doesn't add up, the only person that wins is Donhost. But he has such a bad reputation at the moment then maybe he won't be winning for much longer

Just my 2p worth

Hi,

My name is Chris Evans and I am sure from the above you realise that I with my partner run Purple-Paw.co.uk.

I have just been looking around the boards and have noticed that there seems to be some resentment towards our company and others as we have started up as a reseller.

I have already invested a lot of money into this venture and believed the only feasible way of starting out was with a reseller account. I chose Donhost becuase although they seem to be disliked by a few, after a couple of months trialing with them I found them to be very good - downtime over the last 4 or 5 months has been only 2 or 3 times and the speed of there servers seems great.

I realise that there is a limit on bandwidth on my account and aniticpate on moving to a dedicated server before that limit is frequently broken, in fact I have just spent the last week investigating which company to host my dedicated server with.

I dont feel that I should have to explain my business plans in too much detail but without knowing how much money is in our business account etc. How can anyone say that our plans are not viable? Do you really think it would have been more sensible for us to spend £300 a month on a server that we have no customers for? Surely the customers we have secured over the last few months will be a lot happier (they are already very happy now) when there accounts are upgraded to a better and faster server in a couple of months time?

Anyway, I will leave it at that. I just wanted to make our opinions heard, we are starting what will be a good business for not only ourselves by more importantly our customers.

Many Thanks,
Chris Evans

I wouldn't say there is resentment as such.

Maybe just caution and bad past experiences.

I'm in the same position myself and are having to decide a way to get things started. Maybe its a good idea to try and get an influx of customers in quickly to make getting a dedicated server financially viable. As a customer I would still be cautious of anyone who offered the world on a stick.

Good luck with your business and let us know how you get on both with donhost and with your search for a dedicated server.
