Ok, they pulled a fast one on me. I ordered e-mail service last year for a domain name which I sold to another person this year. They idiotically put me on automatic rebilling. I e-mailed them 4 times and no reply. I finally took the next step and contacted my bank, issued a chargeback and received a new card in case they try to pull a stunt like that again.

Just be weary about their "automatic billing" scam. StarGate.com/NameCheap.com here I come :).

Interesting. GoDaddy does monitor this forum, and they may be helping you personally with your issue soon. I hope this gets sorted out.

Do you mean you sold the domain name or sold the email service to someone?

As for as know, they are being ran by different dept, or maybe even different manager.

If you transfered your domain name to someone else, you are still responsible to cancel your emai subscription.

However, if they haven't responded your emails and calls, then it's odd. Good luck.

I'd give them a call, particularly when you seem to be from the States as well, right (with the area code 555)?

Yes we are located in the states. We are moving to a new location and do not a phone number temporarily, we are also looking toward buying a 877 number. I am dissapointed that they have done this type of horrifying service on me since I have never had any bad experiences with them before. I waited patiently for 24+ hours with no reply (they state 10-12 hours I would recieve a reply and have usually done so). I am not accusing them of anything, but am very dissapointed. I have attempted to call them from my home with no answer. It is very odd indeed....
I also made sure I was not subscribed to get an auto-billing for any of the domains and e-mails. I always do a check on that after I buy and somehow this auto-billing was enabled.

Update: Bank has justed called, issued me a new card and chargeback.

I believe you or the person you sold the domain too just simply have to login to the control panel and turn off auto billing. All registrars default to autobilling since most people forget to renew their domains.

I've had zero issues with godaddy. Best place to register names of you ask me.

GoDaddy tends to have a good reputation, but a few places they fall short. The only complaints I hear is about auto billing and this two year .US registration. I have enjoyed their service greatly and have encountered no problems with them so far, except a credit card issue. It was sorted out very quickly and efficiently.

Your complaint is totally without merit as all you had to do was simply turn-off auto-renew within the control panel at any time. You also had the option of accepting or rejecting auto-renew at the time of registration, you must have said OK to it.

That should be done with any name you sell before the transfer goes thru and of course on all names you are not sure about keeping.

GoDaddy and WildWest are in my opinion excellent!

If you read there TOS and AGREEMENTS it states that all accounts are automatically re-billed unless you choose otherwise. Also before they re-bill you they send out a 90-Day email prior to your expiration date telling you they are going attempt to rebill on a specific date.

Just checked all of my e-mails from the past 90 days along with the trash bin (I keep an extensive amount of e-mails, usually around a year until I do my yearly computer reformat). Nothing from godaddy.com has been shown for e-mail, only for 2 domain names.

Like I stated before, problem solved ;).
