Currently working on with a few other people www.raqsetup.com, there is going to be a major update to the FAQ next week, but any suggestions, FAQ additions, etc would be helpfull. The site is not officially open, but as i said any and all help is appreciated.
thanks - Crazy

I would also like to add that any links for programs that work on a RAQ would be a good addition also. Visit RaqSetup.com and you can email us your stuff. This is a great idea to build a good community for RAQ users to share ideas and support.

Hey crazy nice works so far. Ibiz you made an important note suggesting a community, which is what we need for raqs, i've looked around on the web and nothing springs to mind of any real praise.

Thanks for the effort....

Just some design/navigation tips....

I would make categories for the FAQ. This will grow rapidly (especially if you used a FAQ manager tool and solicited input from the community). If it does, the FAQ will be quickly too long to be useful.

Seperate FAQ/Tutorials setcions. Tutorials should be step-by-step instructions or guides. FAQs should be quick answers to specific questions. We used to run a Guideline/FAQ site for a non-computer related topic. We setup parallel catergories for the FAQs and Tutorials. This worked well because you could look at the FAQ and then bounce to the tutorial if your question was not answered well enough or jump fromt the tutorial to the FAQ, etc.

I would like to see sections for the following (I am sure there is more):

DNS
Apache
Apache add-ons, configuration, etc.
CGI-BIN/Perl
cgi-bin issues, security, perl
PHP
php config, installation
Security
SSH, sFTP, open ports, scanner, etc.
Databases
MySQL, PostGreSQL, etc.
General Setup/Admin
first time issues, caveats of the Raq
Newbies
admin control panel, cobalt layout etc., where's sendmail?

Thanks for the suggestions! I am going to try to work on it today a bit. Anyone else?

Think that if you really want to build something impressive then you'll need help

Not by me by the way. I'm a dummy :)

Not sure what I can do :(
I may have something that could help with the sort of website you are creating...
Other then that, I can hardly contribute any knowledge.
I could however state if the faqs you have are "dummy proof" :D

Just drop me an email with what you think I could do. So far sites like uk2raq have helped me out quite a bit, but I think it could be better, and we could all benefit :)

hy Crazy,

i help with my (little) knowledge to answer as many questions about the raq as i can do. If you need any help with a script then just drop me an icq message. I say you if i have time to do or not, u know im very busy at the moment after 2 of the suns need to be completely reinstalled after applying some patches from sun. :bawling:

I think a community is a good point of starting, but there are so many sites for RaQ's we should not open 5 or 6 new one. We should use one and everybody should help. A community is only as good as the members are (hope that is correct translated :D ) A community is IMHO not only a forum with a simple Instant Messaging System. It needs more, but we can talk via ICQ about this today (if you're online) when im out of my "Fort Knox" :uzi:
