You will find several threads. creepcolony 07-14-2001, 12:31 PM bottom line - very cheap and very good Jonathan K. 07-14-2001, 12:40 PM Hi Just wanted to say that I've used Godaddy.com to register 5-6 domains and have no problems so far. Even had a couple of transfers done from other registrars. No problems and I won't mind recommending it to others. Might also wanna check out www.stargateinc.com . Registered 2 there the other day. :) Hope that helps :D JBIZ718 07-14-2001, 01:11 PM Godaddy rocks , overall great service... JeremyL 07-14-2001, 01:26 PM I would beware of any domain company that charges $7.50 per support contact. If it's not in their FAQ, you have to call them and they charge you for it. There is no email via support. I have a domain with them and their recover password feature is not sending me my password so I am going to have to pay them to get it. It's a hose job. determinist 07-14-2001, 01:27 PM No problem! One of my flavour registrar. SoftWareRevue 07-14-2001, 03:01 PM I have registered a few with them, but had some trouble transferring. . . . . All in all, okay. :cartman: Honu 07-14-2001, 05:30 PM Aloha well I registered 6 with them and 5 with stargateic.com so far seems ok there interface is kinda stupid and hard to use compared with dotster. adn last night went to register somedomains and the CC wasn't accepting kept saying try later or would say error card is bad (its far from it) so that probelm happened Stargateinc. is cheap had a few glitches with there interface also one day the forms would not come up kept getting some error page instead I tlike the fact that the dns control panel is free could be fun to play with. so her is my thoughts on the three including Dotster. if you have a few domains and do not buy more that 1 a month allready have dns (99% of people) go with Dotster best service best interface etc.. a bit more but well worth it . (or if you do not mind spending a bit more for top notch interface. if you register a lot of domains all the time choose godaddy or stargateinc if you have to control your own dns then stargateinc. zardiw 07-14-2001, 06:02 PM Unless you have and will CONTINUE to have the most SIMPLE of web sites, you will soon outgrow them. THere is NO Cgi, Perl, Databases, etc..........pretty lame in my opinion..... sbrad 07-14-2001, 06:35 PM I've used GoDaddy for domain registration, and I personally felt that their bang for the buck is pretty good. In my opinion, an $8 domain name is an $8 domain name. But that's just my opinion. I don't need all the frills. By the way, did you design incanet studios webpage and forum? rockergrrl 07-15-2001, 12:52 AM I have 15 domains over at GoDaddy... I've been quite pleased with them. :D AlaskanWolf 07-15-2001, 02:11 AM my sig says enough :) We moved from Registrars.com to GoDaddy, and we will never look back TheOp 07-15-2001, 09:10 AM i use stargateinc.com; 2+ domains for 8 bucks each and they include all the features you have to pay extra for at godaddy.com RandMan 07-15-2001, 02:11 PM I've used both GoDaddy.com and Stargateinc.com for about half dozen registrations each. They are both good. I don't care what they have for web hosting or anything else for that matter. Their inexpensive domain registration fee is what is important!!! :D SoftWareRevue 07-15-2001, 02:18 PM Originally posted by RandMan I've used both GoDaddy.com and Stargateinc.com for about half dozen registrations each. Which one has more features you can access from whose better control panel? :D Honu 07-15-2001, 04:14 PM Aloha AnIdiot well stargate has better controls than go daddy Dotster has the easiest to use interface of all in ranking I would now have sto say Dotster Stargateinc godaddy stargateinc was returning erros when I was trying to register a name at 6:30 EST when you have a good name a minute can make you loose that domain so speed and ease of getting domains is critical no one can touch dotster at this (between the three) GoDaddy also was having probs getting my CC one night so I went to Stargateinc and it went through no prob went back to godaddy with some mroe domains and still would not work (ther sys) Dotster has never failed me yet. I am sure all three can have quirks. I would say if you are buying domain names on a reg basis try all 3 then you will know what you like. SoftWareRevue 07-15-2001, 04:23 PM Thank you! Good advice indeed. I'll take it, and try all three and draw my own conclusion. :D Honu 07-15-2001, 05:19 PM Originally posted by ReB Honu, My sentiments, exactly...i've registered 3 domains with them, no hassles...and you're rigth the interface needs a little bit of improvement.
