hmmm well then if there isn't any hosts that suit my needs, what if I started my own throught donhost? Are they good?

Do a search for two things on this board:

1) Donhost
2) unlimited

That will keep you reading for a while and enlighten you a bit too. Good luck. :-)

I was about to edit that last post with an, "Ohhhh and welcome to the forums!", but you're too darn quick. It would be a good thing to read some of the threads in this forum and the reseller forum, and use that search button. You'll have answers to that and many more questions...

I used the search and found some "interesting stuff" for two days. I'll continue on my hunt :D....

While you are on your hunt, here is some info on donhost you may be interested in.

There servers will go down when there is a thunder storm, probably for at least 6-12 hours. If you go over your bw quota you have two options, buy a server at double the price of the reseller with only 8 giggs bw. Tacid went with donhost for a while until they got kicked, they were using 40 giggs bw, not the 50 quota.

Some adcice, dot go near a host that says unlimited anything, they are lying to you straight away and normally dont last long eg Tacid

Here are a few who I have e-mailed and seem good: If you know anything about these guys please rate them since I'm trusting you on this :D.

They are hosted by Legend.co.uk, which has what they call an unlimited usage dedicated server package. Anyone know anything about these people?

DON'T go with an unlimited host! You will only be looking for trouble.

Keep in mind they pay atleast $2/GB of datatransfer... how long do you think they can stay in business with unlimited everything?

so anybody have any good hosts they use?

Go to the advertising forums and say what you need and you should get some good quotes from reputable hosts around here.

I have found several companies who own their own servers (one is EVEN A CHARITY COMPANY) who sells unlimited space. They gurentee they have a stable foundation and that they will NOT die on me. :eek: I'm gonna ask you, what do you think about these sites? If you need links I'll post them tommorow since it's really late here and I need sleep.:homer:

Try http://www.AletiaHosting.com. Inexpensive, reliable, full featured, PLUS they just opened a public support forum.

Just stay away from that beastly http://www.secured-net.net ;_; they took my credit card number aweek ago and sent me an invoice and I haven't heard from them since.

Uhm.. much as I have been critical of Donhost on a number of points I think you're being more than a little unfair blaming them for Tacid's downfall.. No make that totally unfair.

From all the posts I've read on here about Tacid and the guy running it, there was a LOT more going on there than just a few problem with bandwidth... To be honest with the dodgy dealings I hear took place I'd have ditched him long before Donhost did... I mean, warez, spam, adult hosting, etc... all of the stuff that is banned in the TOS, etc... Tacid was a joke in every bad, evil sense of the word.

That said, I still wouldn't recommend Donhost but I felt it was necessary to balance the view a little...
