I'm looking for unlimited space and bandwidth anybody know of anybody good? Thank you for your time in reading this :D Chicken 07-14-2001, 02:00 AM If you find it, be sure to tell Elvis, he's wandering malls looking for webspace. otakuman 07-14-2001, 02:02 AM hmmm well then if there isn't any hosts that suit my needs, what if I started my own throught donhost? Are they good? kwimberl 07-14-2001, 02:05 AM Do a search for two things on this board: 1) Donhost 2) unlimited That will keep you reading for a while and enlighten you a bit too. Good luck. :-) Chicken 07-14-2001, 02:06 AM I was about to edit that last post with an, "Ohhhh and welcome to the forums!", but you're too darn quick. It would be a good thing to read some of the threads in this forum and the reseller forum, and use that search button. You'll have answers to that and many more questions... otakuman 07-14-2001, 02:20 AM I used the search and found some "interesting stuff" for two days. I'll continue on my hunt :D.... Londo 07-14-2001, 06:54 AM While you are on your hunt, here is some info on donhost you may be interested in. There servers will go down when there is a thunder storm, probably for at least 6-12 hours. If you go over your bw quota you have two options, buy a server at double the price of the reseller with only 8 giggs bw. Tacid went with donhost for a while until they got kicked, they were using 40 giggs bw, not the 50 quota. Some adcice, dot go near a host that says unlimited anything, they are lying to you straight away and normally dont last long eg Tacid otakuman 07-14-2001, 01:23 PM Here are a few who I have e-mailed and seem good: If you know anything about these guys please rate them since I'm trusting you on this :D. http://bytehost.com/ http://primetech.pk9.net/ http://www.hostonce.com/ http://www.allbizhost.com/ - e-mailed me back so far within ten minutes. They OWN their own servers and offer everything FOR REAL. Only problem is I own more than one domain name. I'd have to pay 6.00 a month per domain but they are lagit. This one looks most promising since they own their own servers. slade 07-14-2001, 01:46 PM Allbizhost.com HIGH RESOURCE USER POLICY Resources are defined as bandwidth and/or processor utilization. AllBizHost may implement the following policy to its sole discretion: When a website found to be monopolising the resources available, the account holder will be contacted in order to discuss the situation. If no arrangement can be reached, AllBizHost reserves the right to terminate the account giving one months notice. Translation: If you use too much server time, we'll kick your account. They are hosted by Legend.co.uk, which has what they call an unlimited usage dedicated server package. Anyone know anything about these people? Keep in mind they pay atleast $2/GB of datatransfer... how long do you think they can stay in business with unlimited everything? (Snip) Uhm.. much as I have been critical of Donhost on a number of points I think you're being more than a little unfair blaming them for Tacid's downfall.. No make that totally unfair. From all the posts I've read on here about Tacid and the guy running it, there was a LOT more going on there than just a few problem with bandwidth... To be honest with the dodgy dealings I hear took place I'd have ditched him long before Donhost did... I mean, warez, spam, adult hosting, etc... all of the stuff that is banned in the TOS, etc... Tacid was a joke in every bad, evil sense of the word. That said, I still wouldn't recommend Donhost but I felt it was necessary to balance the view a little... |
