Well, yesterday was my bday, so I had a lan party with my friends. We played Counter-Strike all night. Around 8am I fell asleep, and left my computer on. I wake up 5 hours later, and it's off. I ask the others if they turned it off, and they said no. I bent down to turn it on, pressed the power, and was then woken up fully by the lovely smell of frying ram.

I power the computer, and pull out the ram. The little golden plates where you put it into the socket were black, and in the process of curling up. It smelled quite horrible.

Oh, what a great way to wake up.

That's why they have "lifetime warrantee".

But I don't want to pay $30 for one :P

install another extra fan inside the cabinet.

Your ram went crispy after a night and 5 hours? Like 8 hours?

Jesus, I leave my system on for days.

I fried my vid card earlier... not a pretty sight.

I have 5 fans constantly blowing on my tower, as well as 2 in side the case, a cieling fan and the room is always kept below 10 degrees.

Ah... magic smoke - thats the stuff that makes all electronics work.
Sadly, they stop working once the smoke escapes... =(
