Please be aware the majority of software licenses purchased online cannot be transferred to another user i.e. they cannot be resold. Please be aware of this before you purchase any software from this forum.
We are posting this as we just had to spend quite a lot of time getting money back for one of our clients who did the exact same thing

There are exceptions to this.
For example Hivemail licences are transferrable, I have also seen certain other items clientexec? where the transfer has been allowed by the producer.
As always do your homework first.

Weird. I thought it was very difficult for software companies
to legally make their stuff non-transferable.
Anyone know if Ensin / Hsphere / Plesk /etc are transferable??
thanks

As far as im aware all these are non transferable.
There is the boundary though of buying from a client of these companies and buying from a reseller. Obviously resellers are allowed to sell their products whereas a third party client cannot sell the license on.
Plesk End User Agreement
" you shall not make available the Software, Documentation, or any license key to any third party"
It might be an idea for moderators of this forum to make a statement on what is legal products to sell here?

That's not a moderator job and would set a dangerous precedent.
I have seen software licences being sold on here that are normally not transferrable but the software provider confirming that the vendor has permission to sell the licence.
It is quite simple really if you are unsure contact the software company and ask!!

I don't think there's anything we can do to police this. We did put some advice up at http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=137637
